The following morning, Michael awoke to the sound of rain tapping gently against the windowpane. The sky was overcast, casting a dull light over the room. He stretched and got out of bed, eager to explore more of the manor and perhaps find some inspiration for his writing. After a quick breakfast, he decided to take a stroll through the manor's many rooms.

As he wandered, he marveled at the sheer size and grandeur of the place. Each room seemed to have its own character, from the opulent drawing room with its plush furniture and intricate tapestries to the dusty library lined with shelves of old, leather-bound books. It was in the library that Michael felt a strange pull, as if something was calling to him. He decided to spend some time there, hoping to uncover more about the manor's history.

Michael was perusing a shelf of particularly old books when he heard the sound of soft footsteps behind him. "Michael Grant," he said, shaking her hand. Her touch was cool and sent a shiver down his spine. "I'm a writer, here for some inspiration."

"Inspiration?" Bennett asked, tilting her head slightly. "Thornfield Manor has plenty of that to offer."

Michael nodded, still captivated by her presence. "There's so much history here. I can't help but feel like every room has a story to tell."

Bennett's eyes sparkled with intrigue. "The manor does have its secrets. Some of them are quite old and well-hidden."

"Do you know much about the manor's history?" Michael asked, eager to learn more from someone who seemed to belong to the place as naturally as the ivy clinging to its walls.

Bennett hesitated, a shadow passing over her face. "A bit," she said softly. "Enough to know that not all of its stories have happy endings."

There was a depth to her words that made Michael's curiosity burn even brighter. He wanted to know more, not just about the manor, but about Bennett herself. There was something about her that seemed both familiar and elusive, as if she were a living mystery waiting to be unraveled.

"Would you like to join me for a walk?" Michael asked, hoping to spend more
