The following morning, Michael and Bennett found themselves consumed by a sense of urgency, their minds racing with questions about the mysterious woman they had encountered.

As they sat together at breakfast, their conversation turned to the events of the previous night, each of them searching for answers to the questions that lingered in their minds.

"Do you think she's trying to tell us something?" Bennett wondered aloud, her brow furrowed with concern.

Michael nodded thoughtfully, his thoughts still consumed by the image of the woman with fiery red hair. "It's possible," he conceded. "But we need to find out more about her if we're ever going to understand what she wants."

With a sense of determination, they set out to explore Thornfield Manor once more, their footsteps echoing through the empty halls as they searched for clues.

It was then that Michael stumbled upon an old trunk tucked away in a forgotten corner of the attic, its contents hidden beneath a layer of dust and cobwebs.

"This could be it," he said, his voice filled with excitement as he pried open the lid, revealing a treasure trove of letters and photographs nestled within.

Bennett's eyes widened with curiosity as she reached out to touch the delicate pages. "What do you suppose these are?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Michael sifted through the letters, his heart pounding with anticipation as he read aloud from the faded pages. "It looks like a collection of letters belonging to Evelyn Thorne," he announced, his voice filled with awe.

As they delved deeper into the contents of the trunk, Michael's attention was drawn to a small leather-bound diary tucked away at the bottom.

"This must be Evelyn's diary," he exclaimed, excitement coursing through his veins as he opened the cover and began to read.

The pages were filled with the intimate thoughts and musings of a young woman in love, her words painting a vivid picture of a forbidden romance that had blossomed within the walls of Thornfield Manor.

But as Michael read on, his brow furrowed with concern. "There's something here about a curse," he said, his voice tinged with unease.

Bennett leaned in closer, her eyes scanning the pages with a mixture of fear and fascination. "What does it say?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.

Michael hesitated, his gaze fixed on the words that seemed to leap off the page. "It says that Thornfield Manor is cursed," he revealed, his voice filled with dread. "And that anyone who dares to uncover its secrets will be doomed to suffer its wrath."
