A new era has come, a peacful era where humanity won't be worry about the danger of flesh-eating demons. Yet, the remnants of the nightmare once haunted the Taisho era are still exist, lurking in the shadow, waiting for the right oppurtunity to strike back.
Sumihiko still remembers the stories that his grandma told him about the bloodlust demons. Of course he believe his granny but he would not ever want those monsters to be real.
Yet, Sumihiko was really unlucky to encounter one on his way home. He was running home in the sunset. Sumihiko spent so much time playing badminton with his upperclassmate, Kazari-senpai and Aoba-san that he forgot how late it was.
As he was running in the dark, the demon suddenly attacked him in a empty route and started to chase him. The humanoid creature leaped around, trying to catch Sumihiko. Fortunately, Sumihiko was extremely agile and flexible, escape the demon's grasp in the nick of time.
But he can't keep doing this cat and mouse game much longer, he was running out of breath and that demon seemed to be tireless.
Sumihiko finally tripped into an alley and faced a dead end. He sat on the ground, panting and catching some air, while that creature were on all fours, slowly apporaching him. He swore he heard the demon giggling when it was getting closer as if it was really happy to have a meal.
'That's it... I'm done for' Sumihiko thought while holding his hands up defensively when the demon lunged at him.
It had been a while and yet, Sumihiko was still alive. Silence. He didn't hear any growling from the demon anymore. 'What is going on?'He retreated his arms to get a clearer vision.
Something moved really fast and he saw...water? No, it was a sword swing, its blade was blue. The quick movement made it looked like water.
Something rolled at Sumihiko's leg.Head! The demon's head on the ground, separated from the body, crumbling away, its hand still reaching out toward Sumihiko.
"Are you injured?"
Sumihiko strartled when a soft voice spoken above him. He looked up.
A girl, standing on the edge of the stone fence. She was wearing a kitsune mask, white hair, hands holding a katana. The moon was bright behind her. She give off a cold, freezing vibe, like a blizzard.
"..." Sumihiko was too stunned to speak, trying to process what just happened.
Before the remain of the demon completely faded away, the girl darted something at its body. A syringe? It quickly sucked up some blood. The girl picked it up and faced Sumihiko.
"Are you injured?" She repeated with a icy tone.
"No..?" Sumihiko finally spoke up after checking his body.
"That's a relief, stay safe" As she finished the sentence, she suddenly disappeared.
"Go home quickly, young boy" her voice echoed around.Sumihiko sat there, head spinning. 'What was that??' He questioned himself.
'STOMP STOMP' He heard footsteps coming toward his way. "SUMIHIKO!?" Someone was shouting his name.
"SUMIHIKO!?" A boy with dark hair with soft eyes appeared at the entrance of the alley. It's Kanata, Sumihiko's big brother. He panically ran toward Sumhiko. Kanata raise Sumihiko's arms, checking his face for injuries.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? You know how late is it? Mom was so worried! Why are you sitting here?? What happened??" Kanata bombarded Sumihiko with questions.
"Demon..." Sumihiko said quitely.
"What-?" Kanata asked as he didn't heard what his brother said.
"I was attacked by a demon" Sumihiko said.
