Prologue

Hello, my name is Kali and it is Day 108 in Hell. You're probably wondering how I ended up here, hell so am I. I guess I should start from the beginning...
I was a solider of war, working my ass off and fighting to be recognised as an asset. You see in these times women are meant for being in the kitchen cooking, serving your husband. What misogynistic bullshit. I eventually showed enough skill to get assigned on mission. That was almost 4 months ago. I was captured by the enemy and have been stuck here since, getting tortured, beaten and tested on, for what? I don't know.

There's another soldier here, I don't know his name, never gotten close to him but he is my only reprieve in here. My solace... his eyes, striking and beautiful, hold so much sadness it should be a crime.

I watch as he is dragged from the chamber.. that's what I call it. It's where we are taken, strapped down, injected with his knows what and then they do what they do best. Torture. He looks so lost, tired... like there's no hope. He gets put in the cell next to mine, this is a first they usually separate us. He stays still, lying on the dirty floor. I use my strength to crawl close to him "here" I hand him a bottle of water I was able to skim off one of the guards through the rails. "Thanks" he mumbles not looking in my eyes. I smile slightly, putting on a brave face "we'll get out of here, I promise."
"How can you say that?"
"Because we have eachother now. I'm Kali"
He raises his head and I get a good look at him... even in our state he is the most handsome man I've ever seen
"Bucky" it suit him. I make a promise to myself in that moment... I will do everything I can to never see that sad look in his eyes again, we will survive, we will get out of here.
