Discovering truths (Legacies: Book 3)

Chapter 5

"Yes!" I whispered to myself as Percy lands perfectly on the last jump.

As I ride him out of the arena Renee, Raphael, and Abbie come to congratulate me.

"Great job Laur"Abbie uses my nickname.

"Thanks" I dismount Percy and pet his neck. "Percy did amazing too."

"Next up is Isabelle on Jubille" the coms announce.

Abbie goes to watch and cheers, "Go Isabelle!"

As Isabelle gets her brown and white Appaloosa into position I see Luke in the corner of my eye. He was chatting with Vanessa who had gone just two rounds before me. He'd never come to one of my shows...

"Yes!" Abbie cheers. Turning back to the scene I see Isabelle had landed perfectly on the water jump.

Finally once Isabelle was done we all walked to her horses stall so that she could cool him down and we could get to the score board after the judges have finished.

"You did amazing Isabelle" Abbie says as we walk. "Jubilee did great also. At the beginning of the year she wouldn't go closer than ten feet to the water jumps."

"I know, these lessons are really helping her" Isabelle agrees.

"I think there has to be a celebration in order. How about the a girls night. Who's got the best dorm?" Renee asks.

"What about me?!" Raphael puts his hand over his heart like he is offended.

"If it makes you feel better we could all go on a trail ride together too" Renee says.

"Deal" he says grinning.

"How about our dorm?" Abbie asks. "If that's okay with you Laur and Renee."

"I'll text Amoy" Renee pulls out her phone.

Isabelle finishes cooling Jubilee down and puts her in her stall. Then the intercoms darted to bus,  "attention riders and trainers. Please come to the arena for prizes and metals!"

This horse show was also a jackpot show. Where you can also get prizes if you do well. One of the many benefits.

We then joined our team and Ms. Robert's as the main judge walks up to the middle of the arena. A giant table of prizes behind her.

"Welcome back Riders, trainer, and other guests. Today I will be a living out over all top riders!" As the cheers die down she continues, "in third place for over all dressage... Alora from Legacy Academy!" The crowd cheers. "In second... Vanessa from Legacy Academy!" Another loud cheer. "And finally.... Camille from Legacy Academy!" Another giant cheer.

In the corner of my eye I see Amira stink eye Camille. Weren't they friends?

"For cross country... in third place... Renee from Legacy Academy!" And another cheer. She lists off second place and they are from a different stables. "And finally in first place... Atlas of Legacy Academy!" Another giant cheer. I look over to Atlas who was smiling. He seemed nice enough... though the only talking we ever did was during riding lessons.

"And last... but certainly not least... the jumping high scores!"

This was it!
