Akira stirred in her sleep, feeling a certain warmth missing. Her eyes fluttered open, and noticed Cole wasn't there.
'Where's Cole?' She thought as she lifted herself up until she winced in pain. The emarld-eyed girl layed back down, holding her throbbing head. 'If I wasn't so weak, I wouldn't be in this position. I was supposed to train today, but no! I had to get myself knocked conscious.'
Akira held her necklace in her hand, fiddling with it. 'Dad, are you there?' She asked.
The amethyst necklace glowed, indicating his presence.
'I'm here.' Damion said.
'I need to know. How far am I until I unlock my true potential?' Akira asked.
Damion takes a brief moment to reply. 'You have shown your wisdom and physical strength. It's quite remarkable on how much you've achieved in such a few days.'
'I see...' Akira closed her eyes, absorbing this information. 'To me, it feels like I've barely scratched the surface of my power. I know I've unlocked the mark of the void, but that's not enough.'
Damion sighed. 'You're not bringing down the team.'
'How did you-'
'I can literally read your thoughts. I'm in your mindscape for crying out loud!' Damion rolled his eyes.
Akira sweat dropped. 'Does that mean you-'
'Know that you like that Cole kid? Yeah, I know.' Damion said bluntly.
'Right...' Akira blushed until it faints away. 'I know you said I'm not bringing down the team, but it feels like I am. I can barely use my powers. I can create small shields, teleport, create portals, and practically blast my enemies away! But everytime I try using my elemental power, my energy always drains. It feels like I'm losing my powers and I barely even got a chance to reach my true potential.'
Tears rolled down the emerald-eyed girl's cheek as she sobbed. She turned around in her bed and stuffed her face in her pillow.
'I'll never be good enough. Not in this state atleast.'
Damion frowned, his heart aching. The man knew this was the reason why she couldn't unlock her true potential, but chooses not to tell her, knowing it's best if she finds out on her own. 'Akira, you are good enough. You've always been. To your friends, your sensei and to me and your mother.'
'But-'
'No buts! Now, you need to rest and restore back your energy. For once, relax yourself and think. You'll unlock your true potential eventually, so don't rush it. Okay?' Damion said sternly.
Akira sighed, relaxing her breathing. 'Okay... I'll try my best to not rush anything.'
'Good. Now I'll see you later. I have a foot ball game to get to.' Damion said.
'What foot ball game?' Akira asked but didn't received any response as she noticed her necklace stopped glowing. The said girl groaned. 'Lord, give me strength.'
The emerald-eyed girl sighed as she covered her eyes from the sun. 'Relax he says. How am I supposed to relax when I need to get better to control my element power.'
