Nightmares

Kenji had been plagued by nightmares and anxiety ever since they got off island, finding out what his fathers done and still is continuing to do.

Even though he's 17 even though it's been a while after the island, he just couldn't sleep, he's terrified of being on his own. Even though Darius's mom adopted Kenji, he just needed time.

Kenji was in a white T Shirt, and Gray sweats. He was under the covers in Brooklyns room, she was scrolling on her phone, watching random videos or reading one thing or another. She could feel her boyfriends back rising and falling next to her, she smiled at the fact he was calm and at ease. He'd lasted a few days without nightmares. So had she. The CampFam had nightmares all the time. The trauma they had gotten from their entire...experience...had stuck with them long after the hell they went through.

Kenji: (Dream)

He and Brooklyn were walking through an all too familiar forest...he couldn't hear anything, all he could see was his girl, then he heard the noises, like every dinosaur he once knew was screaming all at once, the ground beneath him and Brooklynn broke and the began to fall. He felt the wind flying past him, he saw a T Rex head come from the darkness and snap at him.

He landed in a weird state, he couldn't touch or do anything or move, he watched as his father had Kenji control the Dinosaurs. He watched himself smile at it, and he hated it. He began falling, the wind hitting his face again, he saw Brooklynn being kidnapped again by Dr. Wu, he saw her getting shoved in the Helicopter, as they flew away with her screaming.

He saw Ben flying off the Monorail, he saw himself blocking the Spinosaurus from Darius, he saw his father hugging him when he got off the islands.
Flashes of different images began taking over a tight feeling in his body, and began struggling to breathe, he could feel himself shaking

Kenji snapped awake screaming. I felt his body violently shaking, his breath quick small and shallow

Brooklynn threw her phone to the end on the bed in shock and looked at Kenji, he heart broke, seeing her boyfriend absolutely terrified.

Kenjis body racked with his cries and sobs, he was scared and upset.

"Kenji?? Kenji hey.. Hey hey look at me.."

Kenji curled up, his eyes squinting, his teeth clenched,

Brooklynn reached out and gently put her hand on his shoulder, grimacing as He flinched when she touched him, but he slowly eased into her hand.

Kenji was slowly breathing, tears still running down his face. He sniffled and hugged his knees closer to his chest.

"M sorry..." he said as he sniffled again.

Brooklynn frowned at him, she felt horrible he was still seeing these things in his dreams,

"Hey..you're ok..! We all have struggles....just..breathe ok..? Do you wanna talk ab-"

"You- and m-me," he swallowed as his eyes widened, Brooklynn saw him staring off as he began to describe what he saw,

"It-..it was everything- everything we saw- B-Ben when he fell- you gett-ting taken- M-me c-overing Da-rius from the Spi-n-n-no... I-was I was falling-...."

As he went on his voice broke more and more, Brooklynn slowly got him to sit closer to her as he cried and explained,

"My- my father he- I can't..I can't sleep knowing he might still- he might still be doing this..the dinosaurs.. They- I mean you saw me when- I- when he- I-..I betrayed..you..and everyone...but you forgave..me...why did you-"

"Kenj. You had no choice..you were practically abandoned by your dad for your entire life..I don't..we, learned that you had no..family, not like ours..you just wanted that..you wanted your dad to be proud of you...we have no space to judge.."

Kenji hugged Brooklynn, slightly startling her but she hugged him back, laying back down with him starting to cry into her neck and his arms, B wrapped her arms around is back, moving one hand to his head,

"I know..I know Kenj it'll be ok..you're ok..."

Kenji wailed, shaking as he held onto her like his life depended on it. Brooklyn just rubbed his back and neck as he slowly calmed down.

"You ok?.."

"I'm alright...t-thanks for this..for-..for everything.."

Kenji kissed her neck and nuzzled closer, his body falling to the side as he figured he might've been crushing B.

"Yeah..no worries babe.."

Brooklynn kissed his head as she heard him snore softly, feeling him return to his calm state, she smiled and shut her eyes, forgetting to charge her phone, but she didn't care, she was happy to have her boyfriend with her, sound asleep again, she'd make sure to help him through whatever he would go through.
