Draped in a grey saree, Tanya looked elegant. She paired it with a plunging neckline, sheer blouse. The backless blouse was adorned with matching sequin work. Tanya accessorized her look with a couple of rings and golden high heels.
For her glam, she opted for a minimal route: kohl-clad eyes, on-point eyeliner, mascara-laden lashes, subtle eyeshadow with matching blushed cheeks, a nude lip shade, and lots of highlighter. To add a romantic vibe to the ensemble, she left her slightly wavy, middle-parted hair down.
Standing in front of the long mirror, she admired herself. Without a doubt, she thought, "I look sexy."
For the first time in her life, she wore something this daring and didn't regret it one bit. Like Niya, she wanted to see her effect on Ryan.
Smiling to herself, she moved towards the bedside, opened the drawer, and picked a small, lightweight jewelry box containing the love bands.
"Today, I will open my heart and pour all my emotions in front of you," she whispered, kissing the box before putting it inside a golden pouch that perfectly matched her dress. The pouch also held a lip balm, her phone, and a few tissues.
Taking a deep breath, she decided to go downstairs where Ryan and the others were waiting.
---
Clad in a black three-piece suit with a golden brooch, Ryan looked sinfully handsome. He brushed back his jet-black hair furiously, annoyed by Niya's incessant chatter.
"Ryan, I swear, Tanya will look so beautiful that all the men..." Niya stopped mid-sentence as she saw Ryan's blazing eyes.
"Babe, you touched the wrong nerve," Derik whispered in her ear, and she nodded slowly.
"You are my sister, so I'll let this slide," Ryan said, and Niya gulped, sitting like a robot. Derik rubbed Ryan's arm to calm him down.
"Wow," Derik exclaimed, making everyone look towards the stairs.
Tanya was walking elegantly down the stairs with her head down, feeling shy. Ryan felt his blood rush and a twitch in his trousers.
"OH MY GOD, TANYA. YOU LOOK STUNNING, BABE," Niya shrieked, hugging her tightly.
"Do I look good?" Tanya asked nervously.
"You look hot, silly girl. Throw that 'good' to the dustbin because it doesn't suit you," Niya winked at her.
Derik stifled a laugh, seeing Ryan's dumbfounded look.
"So, how is my sister looking?" Derik asked playfully.
"She looks like a bomb," Ryan muttered, his eyes glued to Tanya's figure.
"Aha," Derik teased, giggling.
"Um... no... I mean..."
"Bomb, right?" Derik laughed, and Ryan smacked his head.
"So, my dear bro, what do you want to say about your wifey's sexy look?" Niya asked, and Tanya's eyes widened.
"I need to speak to Tanya alone," Ryan said coldly, making Tanya shiver.
"But..."
"Wifey, let's go," Derik said, dragging a whining Niya away, leaving the couple alone.
Ryan took small steps towards Tanya, making her squirm in anxiety. He closed the gap by pulling her towards his chest. In reflex, she gasped and placed her cold palms on his chest.
"Are you trying to kill me, sweetie?" he asked huskily, tracing her cheekbones lightly. She gripped his coat tightly, scared by their closeness.
"You look sexy, but I don't want any other man looking at you the way I do," he said, giving a small kiss on her earlobe. Tanya moaned softly.
