ASHER'S POV

Walking into my coffee shop, I couldn't help but notice the throng of women. They were gathered here with an unmistakable air of anticipation.

It seemed news of my return had spread quickly.

Kakauwi ko palang last week from Greece. It was my Mother's country.

Women fussing over their makeup, some practically turning into clowns with the amount of powder they were putting on.

Others, their lips painted so red they looked like they were competing in some lipstick contest. It was amusing and slightly flattering.

As I scanned the room, my eyes landed on one of my employees, Feliz, who was clearly lost in her thoughts.

I knew that she's also the young lady that I accidentally bumped yesterday when I was taking a run. Yet , I think she didn't recognized me.

Can't imagine the fact that a guy as known globally and beautiful as me got forgotten by someone like her.

Is she that old na to forget what I look like?

I also had my background check for each of my employees. That's how I secure my business, I just can't trust people easily.

I give that credit to my Father Dimitri, he thought me a whole lot of things when it comes in business matters.

He made me become that Viktor Asher Blackwood, who's cold on the outside yet soft as a pillow in the inside.

She didn’t even notice me coming in. I had to snap my fingers in front of her face to bring her back to reality.

"Excuse me Miss, but you have to know that I don't like my employees daydreaming during work hours. Understood?" I said, my voice firm and business-like.

She looked startled and quickly apologized, "Umm...Opo! Sorry po Sir! Di na mauulit."

I cleared my throat and, despite her nervousness, I caught her staring at me again.

Not that I minded, but I had to maintain professionalism.

"I want my espresso as hot as it should be and don't add too much sugar, not a fan of sweets."

She nodded like a puppy, which, under normal circumstances, would be endearing. But I needed verbal confirmation. "Understood?" I repeated.

"Yes po. Copy!" she finally managed.

I turned to leave but added, "Bring it in my office."

---

Sitting in my office, I let my thoughts wander to the carnation flowers my workers had planted on my secret land.

It was a sanctuary of sorts, a place where I could be myself away from the prying eyes of my Father and the world.

They don't know what I really feel towards every woman my Father throwing me like business meeting I'm obliged to cooperate.

Can't he see that I'm far from his ideals and ridiculous agendas with women he pays just to seduce me.

Only my mother, Ekaterina , knew my true self, and she had always been my quiet supporter.

The knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. "Sir, nandito na po yung kape niyo," Feliz's voice called out.

There was another knock. This girl certainly was persistent. "Sir? Papasok na po ako!?"

I smiled slightly, letting her wait a moment longer before speaking.

She entered and was immediately captivated by the room. I watched her from the shadows, her curiosity making her oblivious to my presence.
