Charlotte's POV
Daughter? Did she just ask where her daughter is? I look at Engfa, and her eyes widen.
"No, no, she's not my daughter. She's Pichy and Isabella's daughter. I'm like her second mom, or third, I guess. She's my goddaughter," she rambles nervously.
I look at the two women, now identified as Isabella and Pichy. To say they look stunning is an understatement. The woman standing in front of Engfa is dressed in black pants and a simple white t-shirt tucked into her waistband. She has long dark brown hair and light brown eyes.
The other woman, Isabella, has dark brown eyes like Engfa and long black curly hair. She's wearing a pantsuit that looks like something a lawyer would wear.
Then I glance behind them at the two men standing by each other with guns around their waists. What have I gotten myself into?
"Sorry, how rude of us to talk without introducing ourselves. I'm Pichy Xavier, and that's my wife, Isabella Xavier," Pichy says, extending her hand.
"Charlotte Austin," I say, shaking her hand.
"We know. That's Chompu, Nudee, Tina, and of course, P'Daad," Isabella jumps in, pointing at the couch.
"Engfa talks about all of you non-stop," Pichy adds.
"So where's Sofia?" Engfa asks. I'm assuming that's the person she referred to as her daughter.
"She's coming tomorrow. Daniel is going to go back and get her, but don't be too happy; she's also mad at you," Isabella answers.
Engfa rolls her eyes and walks towards Isabella. She slowly kneels in front of Isabella's stomach, and that's when I notice the little bump.
"I saw you like three months ago. How do you already have a bump?" Engfa mumbles.
"Five months ago," Isabella corrects, her expression softening.
"Hey, little bean, your mom just slapped me, but I'm still going to be the best aunt you will ever have and buy you everything you want," Engfa whispers to the bump, and my heart melts.
"Sorry, my hormones got the best of me," Isabella whispers back.
"Wait, wait. As in the Xaviers? Like the couple in Italy that have the best law firm anyone has ever seen?" Chompu suddenly asks, and Engfa gets up and moves back next to me.
"You can speak Italian?" I ask in a whisper.
"Yeah, Pichy hired people to teach me," she answers.
"Well, we both work at the law firm, but it isn't ours anymore. I sold it before Isabella and I even met each other," Pichy says.
"That's right. You sold it like six years ago. The name of the person you sold it to was never mentioned. Weren't you kidnapped?" Chompu asks, pointing to Isabella, and Engfa's whole expression changes, as does Isabella's.
"Okay, I think it's time for you four to go," Engfa gestures towards her friends and P'Daad.
They start arguing, but Engfa basically pushes them out the door, and when she comes back to the living room, everyone's silent.
"Umm, okay, so that's P'Sun back there, and that's his brother Daniel," she points at the two men, and I nod.
Then she holds out her hand and waits for me to take it. I slowly take it, and we walk away from the group.
"Cute eyes, I can explain. I'll explain everything. Just please don't jump to conclusions before I have the chance to finish."
"Who are these people?" I ask, still holding each other's hand.
