Sebastian Yang leaned back in his high-backed leather chair, staring blankly at the stack of documents on his mahogany desk. His office, located on the top floor of one of Toronto's most prestigious buildings, offered a breathtaking view of the city skyline. Yet today, even this sight did little to ease his mind. The memory of his encounter with Dr. Raine Liang gnawed at him, her calm demeanor and the way she stood up to him lingering in his thoughts.

The door to his office swung open, and a tall, well-dressed man with an air of confidence walked in. Denzel Smith was Sebastian's oldest friend and the COO of his security firm. Denzel's playful, easygoing nature often balanced Sebastian's more intense personality, making them an effective team both in business and in life.

"You know, Sebastian," Denzel began, not bothering with pleasantries, "you can be a real jackass sometimes."

Sebastian's eyes flicked up from his desk to meet Denzel's piercing gaze. "What are you talking about?"

Denzel plopped down into the chair opposite Sebastian and leaned forward, a smug grin on his face. "I heard about your little episode at the vet clinic. Seriously, man, Raine is a miracle worker. My poodle, Bella, was back to her sprightly self in no time, all thanks to her."

Sebastian grimaced. "I don't need a lecture right now, Denzel."

"Too bad, you're getting one," Denzel retorted. "You're never going to get a girlfriend at this rate. Women don't exactly swoon over arrogance and rudeness, you know."

"Then you can have her," Sebastian snapped back, but even as the words left his mouth, he regretted them. His thoughts drifted back to Raine's youthful yet determined expression, the way she had challenged him without flinching. There was something about her that unsettled him, and it wasn't just her looks. It was her unwavering dedication and the calm confidence that belied her years.

Denzel shook his head, his expression softening. "Look, I know you're stressed. But you can't take it out on everyone around you, especially someone who's just trying to help your dog."

Sebastian sighed, leaning back in his chair. "Yeah, I know. I acted like an ass."

Denzel grinned. "That's the first step—admitting you have a problem. Now go fix it."

Sebastian thought back to the first time he met Raine. Despite her petite frame, there was a strength in her posture and a fire in her eyes that hinted at a deep-seated determination. Her youth contrasted sharply with the weight of her knowledge and expertise, and he couldn't help but admire her, even as he had lashed out. He grimaced at the memory of his behavior.

Before he could dwell on it further, Denzel interrupted his thoughts. "By the way, I spoke to our client this morning. You know, the one with the 'special requirements'?"

Sebastian's expression darkened. The problematic client, Mr Fernando had been a constant source of stress. "I had just spoken to him yesterday." Having had to deal with his pushiness and constant haggling was what made him almost late for Shinobi's appointment with Raine yesterday. Just thinking about yesterday morning's meeting made his head throb painfully. "What did he want this time?"

"He was complaining about the security measures again," Denzel said, rolling his eyes. "He doesn't understand why we need to be so thorough. And when I tried to explain, he started making threats about taking his business elsewhere."

Sebastian rubbed his temples, the tension in his body evident. "That guy is a nightmare. But we can't afford to lose his account right now. Not with the expansion we're planning."

"Exactly," Denzel agreed. "But we need to set boundaries. You can't keep letting clients like him dictate our operations. It's affecting everyone, including you."
