As I came to my senses, the sky was way too bright, like someone had taken the sun and amplified it just to annoy me. My head hurt a lot too. Of course... of course, I ended up being washed ashore on some island. I wasn't unlucky enough to die, but I was too lucky to stay on the ship. I sighed and groaned as a pain struck through my abdomen. Everything was a little skinny, but nothing I couldn't handle. I say up slowly as I recalibrated to my surroundings.

This place looked desolate. There were ships and boats destroyed all along the bay. The only things I could see other was the long, vast sea and a dark cold forest. But I still felt this immense danger. Like even breathing, he could mean death.

I slowly got on my feet and stretched, my bones cracked, and my muscles tensed, I'd definitely sprained a few things. When I looked to my abdomen, I noticed a large spike sticking out of me. Just great. Not only was I a washed-up loser, but I was also stabbed and possibly internally bleeding. I rolled my eyes.

Taking a step towards the forest. What else was I supposed to do but look for salvation. I took another step... that sensation of doom didn't dissipate. Just increased.

I took a deep breath and sucked it up, then I walked into the trees, actually I limped. The pain was genuinely unbearable... for a normal person...

Lucky, not so lucky, once again, I guessed.

As I made my way into the woodland. I started to notice sounds in the distance that didn't sound friendly. I was beginning to feel regret about entering the forest. It took a very long while travelling through the environment to even feel as though I made any progress. Everything looked the same. Trees, ruins, random weapons, more trees.

But eventually, I came to a path. One that gave me mixed feelings. Yet once again, choices did I really have? I began to walk along this path, and that feeling of dread increased vastly. With good reason. Suddenly, a large beast like Ape screamed at me as it launched out of the nearby trees. Weapons in hand, it swung fast and hard as iron. I swiftly dodged as my heart rate increased, sending adrenaline flowing through my veins.

Luck was highly decreasing.

As it swung, I noticed its immense power as it chopped down a tree that had stood behind me. I gasped as the beast swung again. This time, another large Ape followed by another jumped down.

Now, there were very few ways this could go, and only one was looking likely.

But I decided. To take a risk.

As the beast swung once more, I grabbed said weapon and pulled myself below the beast offering up a hand, then I...

I petted the large creature.

Stroking is hard fur and scratching the creases. The beast glared at me... but it didn't move. The other Apes watched intensely. As the beasts were distracted, I took this as an opportunity to run, where I wasn't certain. Though only getting a short head start, it was enough.

I managed to make it, just enough to see a large castle not too far in the distance. As I picked up my sloppy pace, it Judy wasn't enough. The large masters stood in front of me, weapons pointing. I groaned and stopped in my tracks.

The beast approached me, and... grabbed my hand, putting it back onto its fur. The creature looked so serious. I was I awe. I petted the big Ape again. Who would have thought...

It was a nice interaction, sure. But I was dying...

My vision began to blur, and my body felt numb. All the pain faded away. Leaving me weak and... now passed out on the cold concrete. Left to the will of some wild monkeys in a forest.

---

I woke up. This wasn't the forest. No monkeys. No-wait, where was I? I inspected the room, it was old and unused. The cobwebs and dusty sheets told me that much. The glass stained windows signified some kinda, oh, right the castle. I sighed, and I relaxed into the bed. WAIT. I shot up like a bullet and got out of bed, checking myself once over. I was bandaged up. Oh no..

Someone did this to me. Who was it...

I sighed and grabbed the door handle, waiting, thinking it over. Before sucking it up once more and leaving the confnes of the dusty musty room. Making my way down the hall, I realised this place was genuinely decently cared for. The surfaces weren't too dusty, and the webs were fresh. So someone lives here. No one would go through this much trouble if it was abandoned. From that last room, I thought it might have been.

The stair case was large and luxurious. Stepping down them, I noticed movement to my left. So I headed in the direction, slowly cracking open the door. I saw a man brewing some tea as he sat there by a warm fire.

"You're not swift. Come out, " he spoke without even looking or stopping. I opened the door slowly and walked in. He sighed and looked at me briefly before flipping his newspaper.

"What do you want?" He questioned with a monotone voice, deep and strong yet tired like he was wasting his time. I hesitated. "W-well, I washed ashore-" I said. "And how is that my buissness, I asked what you want. Why are you here specifically." He said, referring to this room. So he's one of those guys.

"I wan-.. did you save me?" I asked. He sighed and sipped his tea. "I did. You were dying in my way. It was annoying, " he spoke coldly. I hummed as I stood there awkwardly.

"How did you make it here?" He interogated, I was a little surprised.

"I'm sorry? What do you mean?" I asked. He glared at me. "You were dying outside the front entrance of my castle. How, there are Apes that are extremely hostile, " he explained with annoyance. My eyes widened. "So you didn't save me from those beasts? Wait, does that mean they put me there?" I asked curiously. He huffed and flipped the page of his paper.

He looked at me, "I can assure you those monsters have no sympathy. Don't mess with me, " he spoke once again coldly. "N-no, I'm being completely honest. The last thing I remember is petting one of them a fair distance from your castle. They attacked me and... well, I was running out of ideas, " I explained, still standing there awkwardly like some lost puppy.

He raised a brow at me. "You must have been hallucinating," he reposnded. I sighed. "Could I sit down? I'm still weak from my injuries?" I asked politely. The man looked dead behind those eyes.

...

"I'm not stopping you." He spoke, turning another page of his paper. I toome his words as an invitation and sat across from him on a couch, rather vintage and expensive. Very comfortable.

"And I know I wasn't hallucinating. I'm sure you know that too. You deem it impossible to travel here, especially in my condition, " I said confidently. The man sighed and glared at me once more.

"I'll believe it when I see it, which I'd rather avoid. I wouldn't prefer you being ripped apart by wild animals. I dont care for the mess, " he responded, turning his eyes back to his paper.

I sighed and hummed in agreement. "So how do you propose I leave this island?" I questioned. He was quiet.

"Either you do or you don't, it's not my buissness, so I don't care," he said, still being cold. I was slightly annoyed at him comments, but... what was i supksed to say to someone who was highly disinterested.

"Great..."
