What if Kai got possessed and not Lloyd?

Chapter 1. Sacrifice.

"Hands up Lord garmadon! All 4 of them!" The museum night shift worker says, laughing to himself at the plastic model of the former(?) Lord garmadon. "Oh that's right! Ninjago won't be seeing the likes of YOU anymore!! Good riddance!!! Hiyah!!!" He yells, softly punting the chin of the model with his flashlight, causing it to fall down. As he turns to walk away, he hears..something. He gasps, turning on his flashlight, fearfully looking around. "Who's there?! The-the museums closed!! I know spinjitzu!" He threatens, knowing full well he doesn't, when suddenly, his flashlight goes out. "Huh?..well that's odd..." he grumbles, inspecting it. Gaining more confidence, he exclaims, "I'm legally required to share I've unlocked my full potential!.." he lies. "T-that's it, I'm calling you in!" He yells, taking out his phone. Unfortunately, he was never able to make the call, screaming loudly into the night, the entity had gotten to him, and it was coming for the ninja.

The 5 boys, Kai, Lloyd, Jay, Cole, and Zane are all riding on their dragons carelessly, searching for the big fish in the ocean that was causing havoc, not allowing fishers to catch..well..fish?? What else would they catch? Well, in their true fashion, they finish the job and head to Sensei Wu. 

Nya, kai's sister, Sensei wu, and Misako, are all helping Wu set up his very own tea shop for his retirement. Sensei Wu, looking into the sky, smiles softly as he watches the boys return, playfully arguing with each other. "I'm glad you are all back so soon. We need you to help finish cleaning." He starts off immediately. The boys groan. "Cmon Sensei! We just caught a big fish!!" Jay complains, followed by Cole. "Yeah! We're all tired from catching that fish all day!" He whines. Sensei Wu gives them both a look. "We'd be happy to help, master Wu." Lloyd grins, taking the boxes, opening it up, revealing 5. Embarrassing. Tea shirts (get it). Lloyd grimaces for a moment, but keeps on a smile, when suddenly misako calls for the group. "Lloyd, the museum have called. Apparently there was a break-in, and they called for help." Lloyd has a silent sigh of relief for not having to wear the stupid uniform. "Kai, you go with him, to protect him." Sensei Wu says. Kai punches the air, instantly hiding his happiness. "Yes!!-i-i-i mean of course!" The guys laugh, and Lloyd and Kai get ready to go. "Ninja...go!" Lloyd yells, as they run off to the museum. "Why do I never get to go on missions!" Nya complains, annoyed by Kai's arrogance. "Patience, Nya. Your time will come." Sensei Wu says. "In the meantime," he smiles, dropping a t-shirt in nya and the rest of the boys hands. "You will be advertising!"

As they arrive, Kai gets a sudden sinking feeling, but he pushes on, ignoring it, following Lloyd. "We got your call that there was a break-in?" Kai asks the 2 policemen "well, the night man over there had quite the scare, doesn't remember a thing, hasn't been to helpful.." policeman 1 remarks. "Maybe you'll have better luck!" Says the other policeman. Lloyd thanks them, and they walk over to the quiet man, as the 2 policemen quietly ask each other "..did you make that call for them?.." "no?..didn't you?" "No! I wonder who the heck did.." they both say.

"Hello sir! We're here to help you!" Kai starts off, proudly announcing their presence as if the ninja suits weren't enough tell. The man remains quiet, seeming a bit irritated, but why?.. suddenly, the man grabs both their arms, running at top speed, causing a shock in both of them  "AGH!" Kai screams, almost flying with how quick the man was. "HOLD ON!" Lloyd yells back to Kai. Finally, he stops abruptly. "Well that's MY workout for the day.." Kai wheezes. Lloyd pants in agreement. The 2 out of breath boys then follow the man into the dark room. Kai remains vigilant, always checking his surroundings, meanwhile Lloyd makes sure he sees what is causing the man so much fear. "I-I don't understand? Why did you bring us here??" Lloyd says, confused, turning his back to take a look. Kai looked back at the man. "Yeah- what gives?" Then, a chill ran up through his spine, when he heard a man. Not just any man. He slowly put his hand on the coffin, and opened it, revealing the real nightshift worker, tied up, yelling behind a piece of tape. Kai goes pale, turning back to see the fake nightshift worker form into a green entity, pouncing at Lloyd. "NO!" Kai yells, jumping in between getting hit by the mysterious person. Lloyd bounces up, whipping his head back, to see Kai, but there's something wrong. "Kai!? Kai!! What happened?!" He screams, putting a hand on Kai's shoulder, only for him to push Lloyd away. "LLOYD. GO GET SENS-AGH!." He tries his best to resist, forcing Lloyd out the room before he can't control himself. Lloyd looks fearful into Kai's eyes, but knows this is a dire situation. He nods, running as fast as he can to the shop.
