As the movie credits roll across the screen, my brother gets up and stretches extensively. "I'm going to get something to drink," he says, ambling towards the kitchen.

Billie and I remain alone on the sofa. The dim light and relaxed atmosphere heighten the tension between us. She turns to me, her eyes sparkling, and I know she wants to seize the opportunity.

Before I can respond, my brother returns, a Coke in hand.

He sits back down with us and takes a big sip. "Do you guys want to watch another movie?" he asks cheerfully, unaware of anything.

Billie gives me a quick glance and nods. "Sure, why not," she says with an innocent smile that betrays no hint of our secret flirtation.

My brother selects a comedy, and we settle in again. This time, the atmosphere is a bit more relaxed, but the secret tension between Billie and me persists. Our hands touch repeatedly, and I can't help but feel a small rush of adrenaline each time.
