No, I'm serious. Read bad fanfiction. Find a terrible story and figure out what it is that makes it so cringe-worthy! What makes you want to throw up?
Bad grammar?
Spelling?
Lack of character growth?
Every romantic scene unoriginal or stolen from The Notebook?
Uninteresting plot line? No plot line?
Mary/Gary-Sue?
Over-excessive or unrealistic use of swear words/alcohol?
Take note and apply it to your own fanfiction. (Note: I'm not saying you should blatantly tell the author their story is absolute trash)
