Nora's POV

"What do you think about wearing some mermaid type dress?" Carla asked as we sat down on the KFC's table after placing our orders. Serene was confused as to what sort of dress she should wear to the Yule ball. And we were giving our opinions.

"I don't really care. I'm going with Nott. It doesn't matter anymore" she heaved an annoyed sigh. "You need look pretty for yourself" the motivational speaker in me peeked out. "Yea I know and that's the reason I'm here today" she shrugged.

Theo and Serene decided to go to the ball together since neither had a date yet.

"What exactly happened with you and Parker tho? Why did y'all fight?" I asked. "He just got a bit bitchy. I didn't want to talk to him anymore"

As we went on talking about things the orders arrived. "This stuff is spicy" I took a sip of the coke as I tried to make the spicy flavor of the hot chicken wings Ainsley bought go away. My spice tolerance goes up and down and no one knows when I can handle spice and when I can't.

"It was not that spicy" Iris said taking a bite off my burger. "You eat green chillis for breakfast ofc it's not spicy to you" I gasped.

"You're getting as dramatic as your bf as days pass. We already have two drama queens in the group" Carla took a sip of her coke, "We can't handle another one"

"I'm not being dramatic" I rolled my eyes. "It is spicy"

"How does this look?" Iris pulled out a dark pink gown from the bunch. "Ew. That gives Umbitch vibes. No" I scrunched my face up pulling out yet another black dress. Carla was looking around for a dress for herself, so was Serene. Ainsley and Iris already had their dresses, so they were just going around helping us pick.

"You only want black dress?" Iris asked looking at the black dresses. "You think it's too cliché?" I raised an eyebrow and place a hand on my hip. I hate shopping. Even for myself, selecting, trying out and again changing the dresses to something else-agh.

"No. I think you'll look hot in black" she smiled pulling out a dress. "But you look hot all the time"

"Ofc, you think that" I shook my head, smacking her ass as she walked past me to look at the other dresses.

"OMG! Stop doing that" she exclaimed, grabbing my hand after I did it. "You know you like it" I winked. "People are gonna think we're gay" I laughed as she chuckled at my last comment.

"Now stop acting gay and choose your dress, we need to leave in an hour" Carla walked up to us with a huge bag with the store's logo. "I got mine." "Which one did you buy?" I asked looking into the bag. "The blue one"

"Where are the other two?" Iris asked. "Serene is trying the dress out and Ainsley is waiting outside the trial room"

"I think I'll look at some more dresses before deciding" I sighed in annoyance.

I scrolled through the texts I received in the past few hours as Ainsley found a table in the crowded cafe. The others had to use the bathroom so we both were left alone.

"Man, this place is crowded. Maybe we should find another place" Ainsley suggested. "We'll have to walk again; this place is good" I whined. "Oh! There is a table out there" I pointed at the back side of the cafe which led to a small garden outside.

We walked out the door that led outside. I took a picture of the plants to post. "Bro, I regret giving Cedric Iris's number" Ainsley started, as she looked into the shop for signs of our friends. "The guy is literally gonna be dead in a few months. I'm starting to feel guilty about what Iris would have to go through"

"That's random but I've wanted to talk about it to you myself." I frowned. "I don't think Iris is that interested in Cedric." I spoke. "No. The other day she was talking about how nice he was during the date they went to"

"She's falling for him and when she has to face the reality, then I'd be one of the main reasons this happened" she panicked. "Hey, hey don't worry. It's out of our hands. We can't do anything now. Even if we do then it might make something even worse happen" I tried to console. I'm not really good with words.

"We have to let it happen. Let's hope she moves on after it. I don't feel good about it either" My frown deepened. "An- They are here" I mumbled before going back to taking pictures. "We ordered your coffee Nora," Iris smiled as she sat down.

I felt sad for what she would have to face but covered it up with a smile of my own, thanking her.

We're getting more reality checks as the days go by.

I entered the common room to hear an almost unfamiliar but annoying voice fill the room. "Stop messing with me Draco. Ain't no way you're dating that Addams"

"I am" Draco's tone was sharp and hinted with irritation.

"You have way better standards than her" she rolled her eyes. "Even in that case, you are nowhere near it" my voice reached them, who somehow didn't notice the group of us walking in until now.

"And nobody is gonna stop you from being in denial" I walked to the couch they were on, standing right in front of the bitch as I placed the shopping bags on the coffee table, my eyes zeroed to where her hand was still touching Draco's arm. "But do that while not clinging to other people's boyfriends"

The witch looked up at me with so much anger and her hand fell to her side as soon as the words left my mouth. "Now, you're in my seat" I shot her a cold smile. "You just walked in" she grumbled, acting like she didn't know what I was implying.

"I said, you are in my seat" I bit out in a sterner voice.

She stood up after shooting a last glare my way. I sat down next to Draco until she walked out of the common room.

"Hey love" Draco spoke as he slinged his arm around my shoulders and gave me a cheeky grin.

"I'm tired I'll go to my room" I mumbled and stood up.

I picked the bags up and walked up to the corridor leading to my room, without a word. Leaving Draco confused.
