Eshaanvi Kapoor

It's been a week since my graduation. A week since I saw him, a week since I realized that I liked him immensely just from the first meeting.

In these seven days, there hasn't been a moment when I haven't thought about him. Every moment, all the time, he is constantly on my mind.

From the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep, I think only about him. No matter how busy I keep myself, he never leaves my mind.

During these seven days, my only wish has been for him to be here with me. These days have been like hell for me. I've never thought so much about any boy before. But he, he's different. I only saw him once, and I can't stop thinking about him.

Now, I'm scared about what will happen if I don't get to see him again. What will happen to me? Will I be able to live without him?

And the biggest problem is that I can't tell anyone about this. Everyone will think I'm crazy.

I was lost in these thoughts when I heard a knock on the door. "Eshaanvi beta, dekhna to kon hai," Maa called out to me from the kitchen. I got up from the sofa and went to open the door. I smiled at the person standing there. "Sita Bua, please come in," I said, inviting her inside.

Sita Bua is our neighbor. Poor thing, she's divorced and has a 10-year-old son who isn't mentally well. To support herself and her son, she works as a maid.

My father doesn't have any sisters, and Sita Bua doesn't have any family. But God brought them together and gave them to each other, As a brother and sister.

Every year on Rakshabandhan, Sita Bua is the on who ties a rakhi to my father, that's why we call her Bua. And she's so sweet.

While entering in the house she asked me, "Where is Charvi didi? And I heard that Aarav and Aarush have both come back from the hostel. Where are they?".

"Maa, kitchen me hai or Aar....","or hum yaha" my brothers said together while coming from upstairs. She smiled looking at them. They both came to her bend down to touch her feet out of respect. "Are , jeete raho mere baccho",
She said while running her hand through theirs hair.

"Kon hai beta....."As she was coming from the kitchen, Maa said, but she immediately stopped when she saw Bua sitting on the sofa.
"Are, Sita " she said and sat beside her.

I went to the kitchen to get water for her, and as I was returning with the water, I heard what Bua was saying, "Do you remember I mentioned about Verma ji's son?". Some lines appeared on my forehead as I wondered whose conversation they were discussing. "Ye lijiye" I said, while offering her glass of water.

She smiled at me and took the glass of water as my mom asked, puzzled, "Which Verma ji and his son?" Sita Bua slapped her forehead with her hand and said, " Are, jaha me kaam karti hu." "And their son, Vikram..., Vikram Verma, I mentioned him to you," She reminded Mom.

Perhaps Maa recalled whom she was referring to, as she replied, "Oh, yes, now I remember. So what about him?". She asked

She began,"Mrs Verma apne bete k liye ladki dhundh Rahi thi",

"So I told them about our Eshaanvi, and also how she excelled in her college and secured the top position, and how talented our Eshaanvi  is ". Hearing my name, now I too became interested in their conversation. After all, what was going on in Bua's mind?

Mom was listening to her attentively, nodding her head, and she said again, "And now they want Eshaanvi and Vikram to see each other once". What ?? What does that suppose to mean?? Why should I meet that  Vikram guy?? Wait...what the actual fuck. Realising what bua said my eyes widened in shock.
