Chapter 1-A new beginning (Flare)

Today is probably the best day of my life! I had arrived at Alfea with my older brother, Cinder, (he had let me ride on his hover bike). The school was massive! But, before I looked around. I had to get my schedule, my mother had said to look for a grumpy lady with short brown hair and glasses. However, I couldn't seem to find her anywhere! I was about to go and ask someone if they could point me in the right direction when this guy started to approach me.

His shaggy brown hair had been brushed messily out of his deep brown eyes. He wore a tan-coloured t-shirt that was a little lighter than his coffee-coloured skin tone. But the most attractive part about him was definitely his smile. It made the butterflies in my stomach go CRAZY. His smile made me feel like I was the most important person in the world.

"Hey, I'm Cadence, you seem lost, do you need some help?" Suddenly I was violently knocked back to earth and I found myself looking right at his lips, how embarrassing! "Oh-uh, yeah I'm lost... sorry, I'm Flare um, do you know where I can find Grizelda?" I ask, I knew I looked an utter fool but Cadence didn't seem to kind too much

"Don't worry, it happens to the best of us! You'll find her in the assembly hall. See you round I guess," Cadence waved and then walked away. However, the butterflies in my stomach didn't! I stared at the back of Cadence as he walked away to his group of friends on hover bikes, and kept on watching until they started to fly off to Red Fountain, school for specialists.

I walked over to the assembly hall, just as Cadence had said and, sure enough, I saw a woman exactly how my mother had described. Chin-length hair, stern expression and all! After grabbing my schedule, a blonde girl ran right into me! "OMG I am so sorry! Are you ok?" Said the girl as she held out her hand.

"Yeah, I'm fine, my name's Flare, and yours is?" I asked as I took her hand and pulled myself up

"I'm princess Sunny of Salaria, fairy of the sun and hope!" she answered as she retrieved her schedule from Grizelda.

"So, what dorm are you in?" I asked as we walked to the dorm hall

"315, you?"

"Same! Wow, I can't believe we're roommates! This is gonna be so cool!" I exclaim as we scour the hall looking for our dorm room. Sunny nodded and grabbed us both a key from the cute little mailbox outside our dorm, it was so adorable!! The keys were made of some sort of magical metal, as soon as I touched mine it turned blood red and a dragon's head formed at the top, its mouth frothing with fire. Sunny's key went as bright as the sun, when it died down a bit I saw a sun crest at the top, the key itself looked as if it was made of pure gold. "Now we have our keys I must tell you, your key doesn't only open the dorm door, it also opens your individual room door. Everyone in our dorm will be sharing a room as there are four of us," Sunny explained as she opened the door

"Only four, I thought the dorms held up to six fairies!" I said, my mother had been in a dorm with five other fairies too, she told me how fun it was to share a dorm with five of her closest friends.

"Well, all the people in our dorm share one thing in common, we are the daughters of the winx club. As our parents requested, we can only be in a dorm with winx heritage, crazy right?!" Sunny exclaimed as she tried opening a door with her key. She fiddled for a second and then tried a different door.

This time the key turned and the door opened to reveal a gorgeous room with a small staircase at the back that led up to a large window with a sun engraved into it. Right below the window was a large round bed with pillows and a duvet of Salarian silk. "I love it!" Shouted Sunny as she dove onto her bed.

Just as I was about to leave to find my room, I saw another staircase leading up to what I guessed was a second floor. I followed the stairs and was met by a beautiful sight! There was a balcony on the other side of the room and a glass door leading to it. 

There were shelves and shelves full of books and my prize possessions, including my squishmallow collection which I had acquired from visiting earth with my mother. In the centre of the room was a large double bed with silky red duvets and pillows decorated with rose patterns. I knew that this had to be my room so I ran down the stairs to tell Sunny.

However, when I came down Sunny was talking to a blonde girl in gym clothes and trainers, "I actually CANNOT believe it! I'm sharing a dorm with the princess of Solaria and the princess of Domino and Eraklyon?" The girl said excitedly, "Wait until Spring hears this!" The girl smiled and whipped out her phone, she walked out of the room and Sunny turned her focus on me, "So, did you find your room?" She asked politely as she went over and closed the door.

"Yeah, but who is that girl out there and who is Spring?" I asked

"That girl's name is Taylor, she's the fairy of technology and athleticism, she's also the daughter of Tecna. And her friend, Spring, is Flora's daughter, she's the fairy of life and vines," Sunny explained as she started to play on her phone. I nodded and then exited our room to have a look at the rest of the dorm.

The main living area which had a door that led to the dorm hall was the shade of pink roses and some decorative vines hung from a few corners. In the opposite corner to mine and Sunny's room was a blue door leading to our bathroom which contained two blue bathroom stalls and a cyan coloured twin sink with marble bowls and silver fountain taps. At the other end of the bathroom were three shower stalls each with hangers and a towel rail and one bath stall with jets and lights to change the colour of the water. It too had a towel rail and hooks to hang clothes and bags on.

Back to the main living area, there was some pink translucent glass that revealed a cosy little area with a four-seater corner sofa and two chairs which overlooked a massive flat-screen TV on one of the glass walls. There was a large fluffy white mat that covered the carpet around the sofa and chairs, the carpet itself was a light blush colour which complemented the room perfectly. In the centre of the room was a large crystal chandelier and a couple green vines hung loosely from it giving the room a 'royal in pink and foliage' kind of vibe.

At the back of the room there was a massive window that overlooked the massive school, as I looked through it I could see teachers rushing to get to their classrooms and students hanging out with friends. Some male fairies were pranking each other and a few specialists were showing off to a group of pretty looking girls. I had a clear view of the headmistress'es office which was in the centre of the school on top of the main hall which I had been in earlier. On the top of the office were two crystal wings made out of pure amethyst. It was then I realised that this was the place where I belonged.

"OMG!" a girl cried from behind me, taking me out of my trance. I spun around to see the girl from before, her blonde hair shone in the sunlight and her radiant skin looked as smooth as silk. She wore a warm smile and her eyes glowed with positivity. "I'm Taylor, fairy of technology and athleticism, and you must be Flare! I am so excited to be your roomie, I have a feeling we are going to be the best of friends!" Taylor said as she shook my hand vigorously

"I'm glad to meet you too, this place is awesome!" I replied as I wedged my hand free of her grasp

"I know right, just wait until you see the classrooms, anyways, after Spring gets here, do you think it would be cool if we all went to magix?"

"Yeah, that would be cool but right now I've got to go and have a shower because I am radiating sweat right now, you get me?" I said. Taylor nodded and I walked over to the bathroom.

The room smelled of clean washing. I heard one of the showers going, I suspected that it was probably Sunny so I went into the stall next to it and started to undress. When I turned the shower on at first the water was cold which made my whole body shiver but after it had warmed up I felt all of my muscles start to relax. On the glass shelf next to the shower, there were some bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner as well as body scrub, face wash and a couple of different lotions. After my shower my whole body felt freshened and a lot more comfortable. But most of all, I felt ready for anything!
