I looked at my phone screen eagerly waiting for a text or a call from Damon, but it never came.
The night turned into morning and morning turned into noon, but I didn't hear from him after he left from the party hurriedly.
I sighed heavily.
Last night Scarlet dropped me home and stayed with me until she was sure that I will be fine on my own, for which I was thankful.
However, the calm didn't last long. I tossed and turned the whole night wondering what went wrong.
He was happy, he asked me to dance and suddenly he just left.
In these past months, I have become so much used to him that his absence for some hours have started to feel like days.
He has always been considerate about my feeling and careful about my well being. He always made sure to drop me home, safe and sound.
Even in the days when he was out for his business trip, he called me everyday to make sure I was doing well.
And yesterday? He didn't even glanced at me before driving off. I waited for him to call me and tell me that something urgent came up and he didn't mean to leave me. That he is coming to see me.
But it didn't happen.
His absence and his silence is doing something to me. I can feel a void inside me.
It is disheartening and annoying, both at the same time.
I glanced at my phone once more, contemplating if I should wait more.
"Fuck it. I'm calling him."
I dialed his number and waited to hear his voice on the other side. It ringed and ringed, but no response came.
I called him once again, only to get the same response.
Now, more than annoyance and disappointment, I felt worried for him. Is he okay? Is he going through something alone?
