At the cafe, Faye and Yoko ended up eating together as Lux had been called to the office the minute they walked in. Now Faye was sitting at the same table with Yoko from yesterday, this time with a bigger dog and better sleep for Yoko.
“So tell me, how many dogs do you own and why do you have big ones?” Faye asked, her arms folded in front her as she watched Yoko play with Noof.
“I have two dogs and one cat. Rufus is my doberman, Noof is my mastiff and Celia is my persian cat, she's with my cousin currently. Noof had been admitted at the vet after getting sick and just got discharged today so I picked him up after class.” Yoko answered. “I like big dogs cause I tend to have late night walks to pass the time or when I have too much on my mind. Having scary dogs beside you at night is a good way not to get harassed, cause y'know, I'm just a girl.”
Faye nodded at that, she understood the girl. “I'm guessing you've had them for a while now. They look fairly mature, your pets I mean.”
“Oh yes, Noof is my youngest, I got him when I was in my senior year in highschool and Rufus is my baby since he was a puppy. Celia is my most recent addition.” Yoko nodded, “How about you, Ms. Malisorn? Does Sunny have any siblings?”
Faye shook her head. “Sunny is an only child. I had him five years ago, I don't plan having any more pets. I nearly died when I lost him, and every single time I did I would breakdown bad. Imagine having two of them? That would stress me out so much.”
“Oh tell me about it. There isn't a day when I don't worry about my big boys, people can be so mean to dogs.” Yoko pouts and looks at Faye. Noof had settled to plopping on the floor and resting.
“Well. . .” Faye had picked up the menu on the table. “Since we didn't get to actually eat our orders yesterday, how about let's order now and continue chatting?”
Yoko nods at that. “I'd like the creamiest option they have and then chocolate crinkles with chocolate donuts please.”
“Someone's got an extremely sweet tooth.” Faye chuckles and nods.
“I love eating sweets. What are you gonna have?” Yoko asks in return.
“Plain black coffee and then maybe some chocolate chip cookies. I'll be right back, Yoko. Don't disappear this time.” Faye jokes and then stands up to order.
Yoko simply nodded shyly at that and waited. She then decided to pull out a small sketchbook from the mini-backpack she'd been wearing on her backpack and decided to do some small sketching as she waited patiently for Faye to finish with their order. It didn't take much time although as Faye had sat back in her seat a few minutes later and watched as Yoko silently dabbled on her notebook.
“You do art too?” Faye asked, peeking at the art the girl was doing.
Yoko looked at her and smiled with a nod. “It's just a small hobby I picked up along the way during my senior years in high school. The sketching paid off when I make notes and I had to draw animal anatomy. It makes my notes a lot prettier to look at. How about you?”
“Well,” Faye leaned forward with arms crossed on the table. “I do painting, pottery and sketching during my free time or when I'm stressed. I've been artistically inclined since I was young and living at the palace with my grandmother.”
“Oh really? What kind of paintings and sketches do you often do?” Yoko asks, closing her notebook to focus on Faye. The gestures didn't go unnoticed by the older woman which made her smile more.
“I mostly paint landscapes but I tend to sketch portraits more, especially when I'm at the park.” Faye answers. “It's either I sketch or I take pictures of people when I find it fitting.”
