Phillipa apologized at the end

Phillipa apologized at the end. It was not what I was expecting nor hoping; however, I didn't reject it either. She was being immature anyway.

It was the next day and lunch break had started. As usual my friends and I were strolling across the school grounds without any real motive, until Phillipa and her gang stopped us, or more like me, midway.

It was rather baffling to be honest, how the beef she had was with Sandy, but somehow had been directed at me. I didn't know them personally nor did they know me, I had stayed away from the Sebastian issue quite a lot because trouble always followed Sandy, so it was rather amusing to see how no matter what I tried, I was once again the centre of everything.

As usual Philippa had demanded an apology to which I questioned what made her think she deserved one. Going on and on, Phillipa's tune changed, and she made it seem like she was concerned for me, saying I was her friend's sister and I was hanging out with the 'bad influence girls' which would cost me my reputation.

That was her last argument. I told her it was none of her business. When she was finally out of things to say, she blatantly apologized, which, I shall admit, surprised me a lot. I didn't expect her to apologize given how very full of herself she was, but she did anyway.

Of course, it sent her friends in a fit of rage, Suzanne going so far as to butt in and demand what wrong she did to apologize to me. The two continued to quarrel among themselves while I stood there watching, speechless. It was only when Alice, their own friend, laughed at them did they come down to earth and realize that their 'tough girls' facade was thrown in the drain.

I accepted her apology with the condition she would leave this whole matter behind her, as Sandy no longer had anything to do with Sebastian.

She complied.

Second semester exams are finally over, and today is the most dreaded day of all our lives. A day that is more dreadful than the exam period itself.

"Come on Claire, no need to be so heartbroken, it's not like you loved him with all your heart!" Sofie exclaims, slapping the girl on her back while the latter only dabs at her eyes with a tissue. "It still hurts, you know."

"What? That Johan has a girlfriend? Come on! You just had a crush!" Sandy agrees along with Sofie, unable to understand why her friend is fussing over a random boy so much. But look who's talking.

Meave clears her throat, leaning closer for only us to hear. "On the bright side, you aren't mourning alone. Nat is too."

"Wait, she knows?" Sandy asks with her eyes wide, to which Meave nodes. "Of course she does. I found out from them after all."

There's this song that has been playing in my head on repeat, a song I heard quite a long time ago, and I really loved it, only that I can't seem to recall its name anymore. It was a song that struck my heart rather strongly, leaving a lasting impression. Which is why it was so easy for me to remember the tune of it, but not know what the name is.
