I walk into the classroom with my pleated skirt flowing around as my steps pound. The first thing that catches my eye is a handsome boy with black silky hair. A jawline as sharp as my aunties old fashioned kitchen knife and the eyes of a wolf looking at its prey in focus. My long term crush since middle school. He is on his school ipad kicking back in his seat looking really focused. Then he looked up and I accidently lock eyes with him *I can feel my cheeks go red.* I quickly look at the dirty chalkboard above him staring directly at a leftover unerased math equation making it seem as if my main starting point was the problem above written by a sub with bad handwriting trying to entertain our class. There was probably a 99% chance that he knew I caught his eye by gazing. Embarrassing! The only empty seat left is the one right beside him. The teacher greets me by making it right on time pointing towards the seating chart and it says his name right next to mine, Shawn. My heart drops making the anxiety worse than it already is when I even step foot near him. I slowly walk towards my seat while the teacher starts pointing to the smart board starting off with a beginning prompt for the class. "Pick your partner's children for the poem, take turns reading, elaborate and share your meaning with your partners on what you think the poem means" everyone agrees and starts to talk while Shawn is still on his ipad. He slowly turns it off and scooches towards my desk aiming his arm towards the page with the poem that we are currently working on. His big veiny arm with a beauty mark on the bottom of his hand near his clean shiny nails. I can seriously start kicking my feet at this point. I have no words and my curiosity lets him speak first. "So do you want me to read the poem first?" His deep voice makes my insides fold. "Y-yes" I cannot believe that I stuttered. I feel like giving myself a slap in the face as a discipline for being cringe. "Disappointment often means you still believe enough to hope" he continues reading. I physically cannot focus on the story but the fact is how his voice sounds so attractive making me feel some type of way... "are you even focusing on the story Amelia?" he says it so softly I feel as if his voice is physically hitting me with a fold. I make a fool out of myself and do not know what to say despite the fact that I clearly wasn't focusing on the story. "Um" I get red again. He slowly places his hand on my thigh. "Is there a problem sweetheart?" I get confused in a span of seconds. "Why call me sweetheart?" I softly ask. "Isn't it obvious? Girl, I know you love me. I requested mr. mason this seat just so that i could confess my love to you after analyzing the behaviors of you around me, i automatically knew.'' I am starstruck. I have no words.. "S-so does this mean..?'' I say with my words gripping on for dear vocabulary "i mean.. If only you would like to continue.." he smirks as his hand slowly grabs my chin and pulls it toward him. He leans in and we start kissing as if I'm in an unreal disney movie type of paradise. This feels like a gift deserved after years of hard work fighting my anxiety of course. I feel as if this is a dream. "HEY, HEY KIDS! NO PTA IN MY CLASSROOM. AHH PUT IT DOWN."
