Chapter 5 (Flashback Chapt)

It was now the day before Christmas Eve. Of course, Alice's and Y/N's father arranged a joint family dinner for the two families again. They both agreed that it'd happen at the Guo residences.

It is now 5 in the afternoon, and their supposed joint family dinner would happen at 7 in the evening. Alice is still busy preparing herself for the family dinner; of course she had to obey and prepare herself; it was her dad's request after all.

And for Y/N, she had already been ready since 4:30. If there's one thing about her, she hates being late. She hates being hurried. And with that, she made sure to prepare earlier since she knew that they'd have quite a long trip as well on the way to Bamban.

The Guo residences are located in Bamban, in the province of Tarlac, while the Cua residences are located somewhere in Binondo, Manila.

Y/N already knew from the start what her dad's intention was about doing this kind of dinner with the Guos'. Alice and her have already met after all, and she already went to their house.

For Y/N, Alice is definitely not her type. She knows to herself that she's not straight, but that doesn't mean that she'd like any woman that she sees, right? For her first impression of Alice, she definitely has a unique fashion style. Her choices in fashion scream luxury and class. Well, her fashion definitely should show that, because they're rich after all.

Alice is quite intimidating for Y/N. Judging from their first date, Alice also looks like she's a spoiled brat for no reason at all. The way she rolls her eyes, etcetera. She has soft features and a soft voice as well, but her attitude... Not likely.

She knows to herself that their first date was a mess; she was late, even though she hates getting late. And much more reasons to hate that one particular woman: Alice Guo.

Y/N set her thoughts aside as her achi (older sister) called her, telling her to go downstairs already because they're going to go in a few.

Y/N was wearing a simple red long-sleeved polo from Ralph Lauren, along with her white trousers. She also wore her cream pumps that are not-so-high since if there's also one thing about her, she hates high heels.

She doesn't really wear such expensive jewelry that looks so bulky, big, and obvious. That's why when she saw Alice wearing several pieces of jewelry that were so noticeable even from a distance, it was clearly a fast turn-off for her.

She chose to wear her white Van Cleef and Arpels necklace, along with a simple wristwatch from Hermes and pearl earrings from a local brand that she buys from online. She was also only wearing very light make-up, her perfume was also not too strong.

By the time Y/N and her family were on the way to the Guo residences, Alice was already done preparing herself.

Alice wore her red and white dress that she bought recently online and just paired it with her Hermès Oran sandals in white. She also made sure to apply a decent amount of makeup so that she didn't look haggard, and she also fixed her hair into a decent ponytail.

Of course, she wouldn't forget to wear her favorite jewelry. She decided to go simple and not wear her Serpenti necklace today, but just a simple silver necklace that she already forgot the brand of. She didn't bother to wear a wristwatch since she's just at their house anyway.

After making sure that she was all set and ready, she went downstairs to check if everything was ready downstairs too. Alice has two other siblings. Her shobe, who's actually in the aviation industry, is still single. But she doubts it'll last since she's very much sure that her dad is going to find someone for her in one way or another, sooner or later.

Her ahia, who's a businessman, is already married and has two kids already. Lucky for him, Alice likes children; that's why both his kids are always getting spoiled.

As Alice checked the kitchen, she saw their maids cooking different kinds of Chinese cuisine. She chitchatted with them for a while before going outside their almost mansion-like house to get a breather.

She walked around their big garden, looking at the koi pond that they have. She sat on the benches that are available there, taking a look around and sighing afterwards.

After sitting there for a while, she didn't notice that her ahia was already there with her. He tapped Alice on the shoulder before sitting beside her. "Kumusta, achi?" he asked, still holding Alice on her shoulder.
