**Chapter One: New Beginnings**
Thalia adjusted her backpack, feeling the weight of her textbooks and the anticipation of her first day of college. The campus buzzed with energy, students hurrying to classes, and friends reuniting after the summer break. She took a deep breath, ready to dive into this new chapter of her life.
Meanwhile, Xander sat in the back of his biology class, his mind wandering. He had been at this college for two years, blending in with the human students, but today felt different. His wolf was restless, sensing a change in the air.
As Thalia walked into her first class, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. She glanced around and locked eyes with a pair of striking olive green eyes. Her heart skipped a beat, but she quickly looked away, focusing on finding a seat.
Xander's wolf stirred. There she was, the girl from the forest. His mate. He clenched his fists, fighting the urge to approach her. He knew he had to be careful, to keep his secret safe, but he couldn't deny the pull he felt towards her.
Thalia settled into her seat, unaware of the storm brewing within Xander. Little did she know, her life was about to change in ways she could never have imagined.
After class, Thalia wandered through the campus, trying to memorize her schedule and find her way around. She decided to take a break at the campus coffee shop. As she sipped her latte, she felt a presence behind her. Turning around, she found herself face-to-face with Xander.
"Hi, I'm Xander," he said, his voice deep and smooth. "I noticed you in biology class. Are you new here?"
Thalia nodded, her heart racing. "Yeah, it's my first day. I'm Thalia."
They chatted for a while, and Thalia found herself drawn to Xander's mysterious aura. There was something about him that intrigued her, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
Just as they were about to part ways, a loud crash echoed from the nearby woods. Xander's eyes widened, and he tensed up, glancing towards the source of the noise.
"I have to go," he said abruptly, his tone urgent.
Before Thalia could respond, Xander disappeared out of the building headed towards the trees, leaving her standing there, confused and worried
