When he calls you a nerd.
You were reading an article about birds and couldn't help but share an interesting fact with Heeseung, who was sitting across from you. "Did you know that pigeons can recognize themselves in a mirror?"
Heeseung chuckles, looking up from his phone. "You're such a nerd."
Annoyed, you frown. "Knowing facts about birds doesn't make me a nerd, Heeseung."
He smirks, an idea forming in his mind. "Okay, if you're not a nerd, then answer this: What's the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle?"
Without missing a beat, you respond, "It states that the more precisely the position of a particle is determined, the less precisely its momentum can be known, and vice versa."
Heeseung's eyes widen as he points at you dramatically, jumping up from his seat. "NERD!"
You roll your eyes but can't help but laugh at his theatrics. "Just because I know some physics doesn't make me a nerd."
Heeseung sits back down, a playful glint in his eyes. "Oh, really? Then why do you have all those science books on your shelf, and why do you get so excited about documentaries?"
You cross your arms, giving him a smug look. "Because I like learning new things. It's called being curious, not being a nerd."
Heeseung leans closer, his voice dropping to a flirtatious whisper. "You know, I think it's cute how passionate you are about learning."
You blush, trying to stay composed. "You're just saying that to get on my good side."
He smirks, inching even closer. "Maybe, but it doesn't change the fact that you're adorable when you get all excited about random facts."
You push him lightly, laughing. "Stop it"
Heeseung laughs too, then stands up and walks over to you, gently taking your hand. "Come on, let's go for a walk. Maybe you can teach me more about birds while we're out."
You look up at him, surprised. "Really? You want to hear more?"
He nods, his expression sincere. "Yeah. I like hearing you talk about the things you love. Plus, maybe I'll learn something new too."
You smile, feeling a warm glow inside. "Alright, let's go."
As you both step outside, you start sharing more interesting bird facts. "Did you know that owls can rotate their heads up to 270 degrees?"
Heeseung listens attentively, nodding along. "That's amazing. I had no idea."
You glance at him, feeling a sense of pride. "See? Learning new things is fun."
Heeseung grins, squeezing your hand. "You're right. And, just so you know, I think I'm starting to like this nerdy side of you."
You laugh, leaning into him as you walk. "Good, because it's not going anywhere."
Heeseung stops and turns to face you, his expression turning serious but tender. "I wouldn't want it to. I love every part of you."
You feel your heart flutter at his words. "I love you too, even if you do call me a nerd."
Heeseung leans in, kissing you softly. "Good, because I'm not going to stop."
You both laugh and continue your walk, enjoying each other's company. The playful teasing, the shared knowledge, and the sweet moments all blend together, making your bond even stronger. And as you talk about birds and everything else under the sun, you realize that being called a nerd by someone who loves you is actually the best compliment you could ever receive.
