Todoroki was working with his father on the last day of internships. he was relieved that the internships were almost over.

he was sick of listening to his dads "life lessons" and he actually wanted to go back to school. he also missed going to a certain coffee shop...

"SHOTO! come here my boy" Endeavor demanded with his whole chest.

Todoroki and Endeavor were currently at the police station after they caught some bank robbers. the two of them were recounting what happened to officers when a call came in about a noise complaint.

"noise complaint at (your address)"

isn't that the street y/n lives on?

"is that the l/n's place?" an officer asked

y/n...

"yeah let's get this over with" another officer responded.

Todoroki heard your last name and recounted the time you told him that the police never did anything about your father.

Todoroki turned to his father.

"i think we should go to that noise complaint, dad" Todoroki said, not suggesting it, but demanding it.

"it's just a noise complaint son! probably some teens getting too reckless at their parties" Endeavor responded.

"wouldn't it show how good of a hero you are that you also care about low level issues? not only a good hero, but number one hero..." Todoroki knew what he was doing. he wanted to go to make sure you were okay. and he knew that comment would make Endeavor irked enough to go along too.

"alright! let's go check on that noise complaint!"

you don't remember what you said or did to cause this.

your right eye was swollen shut, blood all around your face. your vision was blurry and you could feel a few broken ribs.

you felt your father pick you up and threw you against the wall. a crack in the wall appeared.

"look whattu did" your father slurred his words together as he pointed at the crack in the wall. he was clearly hammered, and you knew this time was different. it was the five year anniversary of your mother passing away.

you laid motionless on the ground. everything hurt, but you were too scared to pass out, so you forced yourself to stay awake, no matter how much pain you were in.

just then, you heard a knock on the door and the doorbell ring.

"get the fuck up and go to your room" your dad whisper-shouted at you.

you tried to crawl, but everything hurt. your father grew impatient, so he dragged you to your room, leaving a splotchy blood trail behind on the carpet.

it was nighttime, so your room was dark. your father closed your door almost all the way, so only the light from the hallway crept into the room through the crack.

you laid on your side on the ground. your head resting on your arm.

you could barely hear the conversation in the living room. you were falling in and out of consciousness.

Todoroki stood at your door alongside his father.

Endeavor knocked on the door once again since it was taking too long for your father to answer.

the door opened and everyone could smell the reek of alcohol. Todoroki examined your father and saw his bloody knuckles, along with blood splatter on his shirt.

"hello officers. and Endeavor! what a surprise. can i help you with something?" your father spoke with a smile on his face, pretending to be confused, but welcoming. Todoroki didn't want to admit it, but your father was good at manipulating.

"we heard a noise complaint and wanted to make sure everything was okay." a police officer spoke. the same officer who always came and ignored the obvious signs of abuse.

"these guys just wanted to tag along" the police officer continued, while pointing at Endeavor and Todoroki.

"what have you been doing tonight, Mr..." Endeavor asked.

"L/n, Mark l/n" your father spoke and then stuck his hand out to shake Endeavor's hand.

Endeavor shook his hand.

"me and my daughter were practicing using our quirks. she has some real potential! i'm doing as much as i can to train her so she can get into UA next year!" your father spoke as if he was so proud of you. it was almost convincing.

"guess i got a little carried away..." he looked down at his bloody knuckles. "she's in the shower now" your father lied, pointing behind him.

"i don't hear the water running" Todoroki said.

your father's eye twitched.

"you know teens... she's probably just on her phone" your father laughed.

"what happened to the wall?" Todoroki said while pointing behind your father. from his angle, he is the only one who could see the hole in the wall.

your father quickly repositioned his body in front of Todoroki in order to block the hole.

"moving accident" your father shrugged. "my wife and i," he looked down and pretended to wipe nonexistent tears, "were moving the sofa and miscalculated how big it was". he said, half-heartedly smiling.

his smile dropped and he looked down. "today is the five year anniversary of...her death" your father put his hand over his eyes.

"okay that's enough interrogating" the police officer spoke while shooing his officers away from the door. "thank you again Mark, and we're all so sorry for your loss."

"can we look around?" Todoroki spoke, ignoring the officers who were currently leaving.

Endeavor looked out of the corner of his eye at his son. Todoroki had an intense, angry look on his face.

of course, Endeavor just thought about how good of a hero Todoroki was being.

"my son! so diligent!" Endeavor said, putting his hand on Todoroki's shoulders.

your father and Todoroki had a stare-down for a few seconds, until your father took a step back and opened the door.

Todoroki stepped inside, past your father, who was seething at this boy.

"this place is a mess! i'm embarrassed" your father said while laughing.

Endeavor followed Todoroki inside, and then began to walk towards the hole on the wall. he could see pieces of the wall on the ground. obviously showing that your fathers story didn't check out.

Todoroki saw the blood trail on the ground in the hallway and started to follow it towards your room...
