MAKARIA

It got harder every day. Ares hadn't spoken to Helen, yet, which made it more difficult to complete the mission.

From what I gathered, in order to break the curse, we needed to find a witch from Rosalie's blood line and use her blood, get the compass, and a witch to perform the spell.

Persephone turned out to be the witch we were looking for, now we only needed a location spell to find her.

She was at the school, I knew it. The black roses did not appear out of nothing. Persephone was the only one who had control over these roses.

I was in my room when my door suddenly vibrated from a knock. I debated whether to answer or no, but I figured it would be Ares because no one would visit the devil's daughter.

"Come in."

The door opened and Ares strolled in with a thousand dollars smile - you would think he won the lottery.

"Helen said yes." He flashed his white teeth.

I had the same scowl on my face as always, and it didn't go away even after what he told me. "Good, let's go."

"That's it?!" He exclaimed. "That's your reaction to what I just said? Unbelievable."

"What do you want me to say? - Amazing! Wow! Great news! Thank you, Ares?"

"Exactly. Much better." He grinned, making me roll my eyes. He was such a drama queen sometimes, but weirdly, I loved that about him.

"Let's go." I jumped off the bed, signaling for him to follow me.

We left my room and headed towards Helen's. She took her sweet time opening the door and when she did, she didn't look so happy as if Ares forced her to do it.

"You don't look like a person who'd like to leave this place and explore the world." I tilted my head, waiting for her response.

"I have no issues with this place." She shrugged, making me narrow my eyes.

That's suspicious, but I ignored it for now.

We went inside her room. It was messy and all over the place. Most of her clothes were the color red, even her lips. Helen's hair was blonde, but she looked nothing like a barbie. She looked even more suspicious to me than ever.

"Where is the scarf?" Helen asked as she sat on the floor. We followed.

"Here." I handed her the scarf Ares stole from hell.

She quickly took it and placed it on the floor, next to a paper. A blank one. Another paper in her hand with the written spell.

I hoped she had done this before because we had no rooms for mistakes.

Helen started to talk gibberish as Ares, and I looked skeptically at one another. I knew it was a language that witches used to do spells, but still, I didn't trust Helen, even more when I didn't know what she was saying.

The blood she drew from her palm to track the location started moving, ever so slowly until it landed on the exact location of Persephone.

She was indeed in this school, but somewhere that none of us knew where.

"She is definitely in the West wing - the map shows beside the stairs." Helen said as she looked intently at the map.

"But there's no room there." Ares argued.

I sighed. I had been there, but I was too distracted by Gloria and later with other things to go back and explore.

"I had been there before. The compass took me there and I stood in front of a wall. I am sure the room is behind it."

"But what would your mother be doing there?" Ares asked, furrowing his brows.

"She mightn't be doing anything. She was maybe put there." I replied with a frown.

"What do you mean?" Helen asked.

I swallowed hard as anger struck me. "What I mean is that someone kidnapped my mother and imprisoned her there."

And I was going to find whoever did that.

The first person who came to my mind was Hades, but I knew that if he knew where Persephone was, he would have kept her very close to him. He was that much obsessed. I didn't know who else could have done that, but I was going to find them sooner or later.

"Let's go."
