blueberry muffins (todoroki x reader)

ch 13

Todoroki opened your bedroom door slowly, the light slowly revealing your body on the ground. he went up to you and turned your head to look at your face.

you put your arms above your head in defense, not realizing this was Todoroki.

"dad... pl-please i'm sorry" you struggle to get out.

"y/n" Todoroki put his hand on your face.

"Todoroki?" you question. your eyes are barely open and you can't tell if this is real or you're hallucinating. you did get hit in the head multiple times.

"it's okay, it's okay" Todoroki repeated. he picked you up and carried you. your head was resting against his chest. you were slowly losing consciousness.

Todoroki walked to the living room, where Endeavor and the police saw what your father had done to you.

"oh my god! call an ambulance!" one of the police officers said.

you were laying in a hospital bed. you have no idea how you got here or how long you've been out.

a nurse came in as you began to wake up. an IV was in your arm and you could hear rhythmic beeping.

"hey there ms. l/n. how are you feeling?" the nurse asked.

"i think i'm fine. where's my dad?" you ask. you couldn't remember what happened.

"well sweetie, you were out of it for a few days. your father was taken into custody. i don't know any more than that. i'm sorry" the nurse explained.

"everything looks like it's healing okay. you had a few broken ribs, but those are healed. your wounds on your face are also looking good too. we can have you out of here in a few hours!"

"thank you" you say. 

"is there anyone you want us to call? maybe that boy who's always visiting?" the nurse says while raising her eyebrows.

"what boy?" you ask, genuinely confused.

"well, he has white and red hair, and a scar on one of his eyes. he comes in a few times a day to check in on you." the nurse continues.

"oh... um it's fine, i'll just text him. thanks" you say, reaching for your phone.

you see many missed calls and texts, including some from your father.

you saw some texts from Todoroki as well.

Todoroki

3 days ago:
hey y/n i'm going to visit you at the hospital in an hour.

2 days ago:
i'll be at the hospital in 15 minutes

yesterday:
be at the hospital in 10 minutes. i hope you're doing okay.

you were shocked at Todorokis efforts. he was coming to the hospital everyday to make sure you're okay. what a great hero.

you texted him to let him know you're awake.

i'll be there in 10 minutes.

you rolled your eyes. you knew that no matter how much you begged him not to visit, he still would.

you stared at the ceiling and recounted everything that has happened. you were so upset by everything, especially involving Todoroki.

you must have been thinking for a while, because a knock at the door brought you out of your thoughts.

"hey Todoroki, come in" you say while trying to sit up. it hurt to bend, so you winced at the pain.

Todoroki walked into the room and sat in a chair next to your bed. he looked you up and down.

"how are you feeling?" he asked, concern written on his face.

"i feel okay. i mean, my stomach hurts, and i kind of have a headache, but other than that im good." you say while smiling.

"i honestly don't even really remember what happened" you say while chuckling.

"i was worried you wouldn't wake up" Todoroki says, scooting closer in his chair.

you look at Todoroki who is now resting his head on your bed. he clearly looks exhausted.

"you look like shit" you say while laughing.

Todoroki turns his head towards you.

"well you don't look any better" Todoroki snaps back.

you both laugh lightly.

"seriously Todoroki, you don't have to stay. you can go home and sleep in your own bed if you're tired" you say. you could see how tired Todoroki looked.

"i would rather be here... with you" Todoroki responds. he grabs your hand lightly.

"thank you, for everything. you don't know how much you've done for me. so thank you" you say, while annunciating the last part.

"don't worry about it. what type of hero would i be if i didn't help you?" Todoroki asks while shrugging his shoulders.

"listen, i know that now isn't really the time, but i talked to my teacher" Todoroki starts to explain. "he says that you can join UA if you take a test and showcase your abilities. it's still within the first semester, so you haven't missed much."

you were freaking out on the inside. all you've ever wanted to do is join UA, and thanks to Todoroki, you might be able to.

"are you serious?! that's awesome! thank you so much" you say while sitting up.

"oh my gosh! i have to decide on a hero name. and a hero costume. and i need to review last years notes." you begin to ramble.

"maybe you should save all of this until you're out of the hospital." Todoroki states.

"that's a good idea." you look at Todoroki and squeeze his hand. "thank you. seriously. for everything, Todoroki"

Todoroki just shrugs. "don't worry about it"

"i'm getting kind of tired so you can leave if you want" you say to Todoroki. even though you've only been awake for an hour, it felt like days. your body was so tired from trying to heal itself.

"it's okay, i'll stay here until you fall asleep" Todoroki responded.
