The palace was adorned with flowers and lanterns, a festive air hanging over the grounds as the day of Jungkook and Hyejin's wedding approached. Nobles and dignitaries from across the kingdom gathered to witness the union of their king and his chosen queen consort.
Hyejin stood in her chambers, surrounded by attendants fussing over her elaborate wedding attire. Her heart fluttered with nervous excitement, but she couldn't help but feel a pang of apprehension. The weight of becoming queen consort and the target of Queen Sunmi's wrath bore heavily on her shoulders.
"You look radiant, Your Highness," one of the attendants said, adjusting a delicate hairpin in Hyejin's elaborate updo.
Hyejin managed a grateful smile, though her mind was elsewhere. "Thank you. Is everything ready for the ceremony?"
"Yes, Your Highness," another attendant replied. "The guests are arriving, and His Majesty is waiting in the grand hall."
With a deep breath, Hyejin nodded, steeling herself for the challenges ahead. As she made her way through the palace corridors towards the grand hall, she could hear the murmurs of the courtiers and nobles who had gathered to witness the royal wedding.
When Hyejin entered the grand hall, all eyes turned to her. Jungkook stood at the end of the aisle, dressed in resplendent royal robes, his expression softened with love and anticipation. His heart swelled with pride as he watched Hyejin approach, her beauty illuminated by the warm glow of lanterns and the admiration of the assembled guests.
As they stood before the royal officiant, Jungkook took Hyejin's hand in his, his voice steady as he recited his vows. "I, Jeon Jungkook, King of Jeosoen, take you, Han Hyejin, to be my queen consort. I promise to cherish and protect you, to honor and respect you, for as long as we both shall live."
Hyejin's voice trembled with emotion as she responded, her eyes locked with Jungkook's. "I, Han Hyejin, take you, Jeon Jungkook, to be my king. I promise to stand by your side, to support and love you, for all the days of my life."
The officiant pronounced them husband and wife, and cheers erupted from the gathered guests. Jungkook pulled Hyejin into his arms, sealing their union with a tender kiss that spoke volumes of their love and devotion.
As the celebration continued into the night, Jungkook and Hyejin danced together under the starlit sky, their hearts overflowing with joy. For a brief moment, the shadows of palace intrigue and Queen Sunmi's wrath faded into the background, leaving only the promise of a future filled with love and unity.
But unbeknownst to them, Queen Sunmi watched from the shadows, her heart filled with bitterness and resentment. She vowed silently to herself that she would not rest until she had reclaimed what she believed was rightfully hers.
As dawn broke over the palace, Jungkook and Hyejin retired to their chambers, their minds and hearts filled with dreams of a future together. Little did they know that their newfound happiness would soon be tested in ways they could never have imagined.
