In the days following Jungkook and Hyejin's wedding, the palace buzzed with anticipation and celebration. The union of the king and his queen consort was a cause for joy among many, yet underlying currents of tension and intrigue continued to simmer beneath the surface.
Queen Sunmi's resentment burned brighter than ever. Her attempts to discredit Hyejin had failed, and now she plotted her next move with renewed determination. She gathered her loyal advisors in the privacy of her chambers, her expression a mask of calculated fury.
"We cannot allow this travesty to stand," Sunmi declared, her voice laced with venom. "That dancer has bewitched Jungkook and stolen what is rightfully mine."
Her closest advisor, Lady Jisoo, nodded fervently. "Your Majesty, we must act swiftly. Hyejin's influence over the king grows stronger with each passing day."
Sunmi's eyes narrowed as she formulated a plan. "We need to isolate Hyejin, turn the court against her. Find any weakness we can exploit."
Meanwhile, Jungkook and Hyejin reveled in their newfound happiness. They spent hours together in the gardens, sharing dreams and aspirations for their future. Despite the lingering threat posed by Queen Sunmi, they clung to each other, finding solace in their love.
One evening, as they walked hand in hand through the moonlit gardens, Hyejin couldn't help but voice her concerns. "Jungkook, I fear for what Sunmi may do next. Her hatred for me is palpable."
Jungkook squeezed her hand reassuringly. "I will not let anything harm you, Hyejin. I swear it."
Hyejin's eyes searched his, filled with love and gratitude. "I believe you, Jungkook. But we must remain vigilant."
As they turned to head back to the palace, they were intercepted by Taehyung, who approached with urgency in his stride.
"Your Majesties," Taehyung began, bowing respectfully. "There is troubling news from the court. Queen Sunmi is rallying support against Hyejin."
Jungkook's jaw clenched with frustration. "What is she planning?"
Taehyung's expression was grim. "She is spreading rumors about Hyejin's loyalty to the kingdom. Some nobles are beginning to question her presence."
Hyejin's heart sank, the weight of Sunmi's relentless vendetta pressing down on her. "What can we do?"
Yoongi joined them, his voice filled with determination. "We need to counter her accusations with evidence of Hyejin's loyalty and contributions to the kingdom."
Jungkook nodded, his mind racing with plans. "Prepare a council meeting. We will address these rumors head-on."
As they made their way back to the palace, Jungkook and Hyejin knew that their happiness was fleeting, overshadowed by the looming threat of Queen Sunmi's vengeance. They could only hope that their unity and love would prove stronger than the shadows of intrigue that threatened to tear them apart.
