The council chamber was filled with tension as nobles and advisors gathered for the emergency meeting called by King Jungkook. Whispers and sidelong glances filled the air, evidence of the uncertainty and unease that gripped the court.

Jungkook stood at the head of the long table, flanked by Hyejin and his closest advisors. His gaze swept over the assembled council members, his expression grave yet determined.

"My lords and ladies," Jungkook began, his voice echoing through the chamber. "I have called this meeting to address the rumors and accusations circulating within our court."

A murmur of agreement rippled through the room as the council members leaned forward, awaiting Jungkook's words.

"There are those among us who seek to undermine the unity and stability of our kingdom," Jungkook continued, his eyes locking onto Queen Sunmi's icy stare. "Rumors have been spread questioning Lady Hyejin's loyalty and intentions."

Sunmi's jaw tightened, but she remained composed. "Your Majesty, I am only concerned for the welfare of our kingdom. The people deserve to know who holds their best interests at heart."

Jungkook's voice was firm as he countered, "Lady Hyejin has proven her dedication time and again. She has contributed to our culture and diplomacy with grace and humility."

Taehyung stepped forward, a stack of parchments in his hands. "Allow me to present evidence of Lady Hyejin's charitable works, her efforts to promote education among the underprivileged, and her diplomatic successes on behalf of the kingdom."

As Taehyung laid out the documents before the council, murmurs of approval spread among the nobles. They studied the evidence with interest, reassessing their earlier doubts.

Yoongi spoke next, his voice ringing with conviction. "Queen Sunmi's accusations are baseless and driven by personal vendetta. Her attempts to sow discord among us must be met with unity and resolve."

Seokjin nodded in agreement. "We must stand together against these divisive tactics. Our loyalty lies with our king and queen consort."

Hoseok added, "Let it be known that we support King Jungkook's decision to marry Lady Hyejin. Her presence in the palace enriches our kingdom."

With each statement of support, Hyejin felt a surge of gratitude and relief. Despite Queen Sunmi's efforts to tarnish her reputation, the council's solidarity strengthened her resolve.

Jungkook concluded the meeting with a solemn decree. "From this day forward, let there be no doubt. Lady Hyejin is my queen consort, chosen by me to stand at my side. Any further attempts to undermine her will be met with consequences."

The council members nodded in agreement, their allegiance reaffirmed. As they dispersed, whispers of admiration for Jungkook and Hyejin's steadfastness echoed through the corridors of power.

But Queen Sunmi remained undeterred, her mind already scheming new ways to reclaim her influence and drive a wedge between Jungkook and Hyejin. The battle for the throne was far from over, and the stakes had never been higher.

In the quiet of their chambers that night, Jungkook held Hyejin close, his heart heavy with the knowledge that their love would continue to be tested. But as they clung to each other, they found strength in their bond, determined to weather whatever storms lay ahead.
