Chisato

"Are you really sure about this, m'lady?" Daniel asked with a concerned look on his face.

I looked at him for a moment and returned my focus to watering the plants. I was then deep in thought.

"With all due respect, Lady Chisato, Miss Synthia has been through a lot. Do you think she'll be able to accept this?" He spoke as I heard his footsteps move closer to where I was. My head then shot up. I wanted to say something but I was somehow hesitant to do so.

"You're right." I mumbled, pouring the remaining water onto the plant before placing the pail on the nearby wooden table. I then turned around and faced Daniel. "Synthia has been through a lot but," I paused, taking in a deep breath. "-But I can't stand and watch her ruin the beautiful future that she will have." I muttered.

I let out a breath before sitting on one of the stools by the table. Daniel did the same, sitting across me.

As I looked at Synthia and Ga-Ming, they fondly reminded me of Akio and I.

Right from the beginning, Akio had been nothing but a devoted lover. He would do everything he can just to make me happy and as his beloved wife, I stood by him in all of the storms he'd been through.

Through thick and thin. I thought. That was the promise Akio and I made between us. Our love was something I will forever cherish until he himself is taken over by selfishness and greed.

(FLASHBACK)

"Chisato, look at this wonderful invention of mine!" Akio beamed with pride in his new profound creation.

Akio had always been the brightest person in the room; his intelligence unparalleled. Many of the inventors looked up to him for his greatness and had always taken inspiration in his works.

I gave him a hug, proud of what he has become, before lovingly planting a kiss on his cheek.

"My love," He pulled away and held both my hands. "With this creation, we shall bring Inazuma to a new future."

I giggled at him, holding his cheek. "The future that I want is to have a happy family with you," I brought his hand to my belly, allowing him to feel the offspring I was carrying inside. "Asato will be born soon," I whispered, resting my forehead on his.

"I know," He pecked my lips. "He will see greatness once you have brought him to this world,"

I have thought nothing of it. I had always seen his words as nothing but mere ambitions until that day came.

(FLASHBACK)

"What have you done Akio?" I stood in front of him, horror in my eyes.

"This has to be done," He said, his face had no emotions in them. My eyes widened as my gaze slowly fell down on the ground, watching the lifeless bodies of vision bearers lay on the pool of their own blood. Akio then approached me and grabbed both my shoulders.

"I am so close, my love," He hissed with madness in his eyes. Surely, those weren't the eyes I first fell in love with. He wasn't the same as the Akio I met and dreamt of a family with. "The Vision bearers lack the energy I need. I need yours,"

I gasped, pushing him away as soon as he finished his sentence.

He started the chuckle. "Of course, Adeptal Energy." He giggled to himself while I took steps back as I watched his giggles turn into maniac laughter. "You were the answer all along," He looked at me. "Chisato? Why are you looking at me like that?" He frowned, tilting his head to the side.
