Heyy this is like my first upload of my own work, no help yay!!! anyways i hope you all like it.... :)

please be warned it can be sad...

World war one was a terrible thing,

But that never stop men from fighting.

There was blood, bodies, bombs everywhere,

Some soldiers just had to stop and stare.

His name was George, he was 14,

He was too young to serve his king and country,

He was a smart kid, but he just didn’t think,

The parers were signed in just a wink.

He told his family, his mother cried,

She thought he was too young to hear he’d died.

His father shook his hand, he was so proud,

His little brother just sat there, he didn’t make a sound.

The trenches were full of rats and mice,

Within days the men were covered in lice.

He’d be shot for cowardice f he did not fight,

He didn’t realise war was such a horrific sight.

He fought at the front line at the battle of the Somme,

The wistle blew, it was time to be gone.

The ball flew over and so did they,

The Germans killed them like animals of prey.

He didn’t kill anyone, he was shot in the chest,

He saw his mothers face all hurt and depressed.

He couldn’t move, he was just too weak,

So he closed his eyes, and fell asleep.

His name was George, he was only 14,

He just wanted to serve his king and country.

Many families were hurt like this,

For many lives were lost like his.
