FOUR. It had been four weeks since Nessa returned to Lucas' side. Four weeks of hectic days filled with questions and planning. Nessa was restless. Something was brewing in the air and Lucas was not dismissing her feeling. Four weeks of going to the office with Lucas and learning the ins and outs of all his businesses. He wanted her to be a part of his life in every sense of the word.

Nessa sat behind Lucas' desk looking over the financial sheet for the escort businesses that Lucas had. She tried to make sense of what the paper said and she just couldn't. She had no idea about accounting or taxes. She threw the paper on the pile that Lucas had set out for her and sighed.

"What's the matter?" Lucas looked up from the contract he was reading while lounging on the couch.

"I don't understand this." She huffed out. "I'm not an educated woman, Lucas. I'm a broken and fucked up in the head woman." She pushed the chair back and walked to the door and opened it.

Lucas watched her leave the office and stood up. He put the contract aside and pulled his cell phone out and dialed Blake's number.

"Yes, Mr. McAllister," Blake said, answering on the second ring.

"She's heading down, and she's angry. Keep her safe just give her space." Lucas ordered and hung up. He sent a mass message to the security detail he had hired a week after Nessa had returned home. He had hired ten men to keep Nessa safe. The only people Nessa saw were her personal guard. The other ten were invisible to her, but they were always around her. Knowing that they were there made Lucas a little more comfortable. He wasn't one hundred percent comfortable unless he was with her, but he couldn't smother her.

He had started his plan. The day after he had proposed to her he had decided that he would make Nessa part of everything in his life, especially in his businesses. Step number one was to make her feel that her opinion mattered. Step number two was to get her involved in the decision making of the businesses. Step number three was to get her to meet his employees which would now be her employees as well. Step number four was to make Nessa manage one or two businesses on her own and the final, but most important step was to make Nessa realize that she was behaving and acting like his wife.

Lucas had already set everything in motion. Some of his most trusted employees were briefed on his plan and they had been delighted that Lucas had asked for their help. The women that were involved in his plan were under strict orders that they were to in no way make Nessa feel jealous. He knew that she was very insecure when it came to other women being around him.

Nessa walked out of the building and was joined immediately by Ryder, Maggie, and Blake. Maggie took her place on her right and Ryder on her left while Blake stayed behind her. They always gave her enough room which she was thankful for. She hated feeling like she was in custody. She walked around the block a few times and decided to go back to Lucas when her feet began to hurt from the open-toed high heels she wore. Not the brightest idea to walk in them for too long, she thought feeling a blister forming where the strap rubbed her.

She walked inside the building and her guard escorted her to the elevator and stayed with her until she was safely in Lucas' office.

"I hate feeling stupid," she said. She took his attention away from the contract he had been reading all morning.

Lucas looked up at her, set the contract aside once again and opened his arms. Nessa didn't waste a moment and went to him. She sat on his lap and let his embrace soothe her wounded ego. She rested her head on his shoulder and sighed.

"Why would you feel stupid?" Lucas asked, giving her a chance to talk.

"Because I don't understand anything about accounting or how to run a business. How am I supposed to help you and be part of things when I have no idea what I'm doing? I'm totally useless to you."
