The Maze Runner- The Hayes.

The tour

"Whats that wall?" She said
"Ahh, that. We're just trapped here. And me, a runner is trying to find a way out of here." He said and started to walk over to a nearby hut. Briar followed along quickly.
"Where are we going?" She asked but he didnt reply "hm." She was not happy about that.
"Hey! Newt come here." Minho finally stopped. A blonde boy came over he had brown eyes and a baby face.
"Hey whats up? This the new greenie?" He said with a British accent. Briar stared at him for a moment she was lost for words.
"Yeah thats her! Her names Briar" Minho said patting her on the back.
"Hm oh yeah, Briar thats me." She started to fiddle with her dark curly brown hair.
"I'm Newt, nice to meet you" he put his hand out and she shook it.
"Can you give her the tour? I gotta meet Ben to run" Minho said then walking away
"I'll see you soon Bri" he waved. Briar smiled, the way he said her name was so gentle.
"Time for the tour then!" He said and led her to near the kitchen.
"This is the kitchen, and over here" he walked over to wear a dark skinned boy was cooking, he had dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, he was very smiley.
"This is frypan!"
Frypan turned around and smiled
"It's nice to meet you greenie" he said "I would shake your hand but I'm getting lunch ready because we are a bit behind today."
"Its okay! It looks amazing though!" She felt like she hadn't ate in forever and was really hungry.
"When we've finished the tour we will come get some food don't worry, I bet your really hungry" Newt turned to her, "Right, Fry we'll see you later mate" and then the two of them walked out and did the rest of the tour.

Later on after lunch.

Newt and Briar went to where Briar would be sleeping,
"This is your hut, you'll be sharing with a boy, I don't know where he is though. Hes late." Newt said sighing. Just then the door swung open, a boy with curly brown hair came in, he was short and a bit chubby.
"I'm sorry I'm late. I was helping Alby with something." He said standing next to Newt.
"It's alright mate." Newt said then looking over to Briar .This is Chuck! The youngest here and you'll be sharing this hut with him."
"Hi!" Chuck said waving. "Your so pretty!"
"Thank you!" She said. This is her first compliment since being here and it was the sweetest.
"I'm sure Chuck will make you feel welcome." Newt said ruffling his hair and laughing. "I better be getting to work but I'll see you later greenie" he said then walked out giving one last look at Briar.
"You can have that side since your stopd over there and its in the corner so you have privacy aswell which your gonna need as your the only girl here.." Chuck said bringing some blankets and clothes over to her.
"Only girl?" She said.
"Yep! We've never had a girl before. So everyones gonna love you and is probably gonna be asking questions." He said going over to his bed. "And I wouldn't leave without someone at night as there as some weird creeps here. I don't want you getting hurt. I feel like you would be my big sister." He said smiling.
"Of course I will! I'd love to!" She said smiling.

Newts POV:

She was beautiful, the way her curly brown hair bounced when she walked and the way it fell bellow her shoulders. Her eyes were like a green field. She was the most beautiful girl ever. I just hope that shes safe here. It's weird how we've never got a girl before but maybe next month we'll get another.

"Alby is gonna stop by later but probably at dinner. Hes the leader here. The first one here at the glade. He'll explain any questions you have." Chuck said. "I've got to go do some work now but I hope you settle in nicely!" He said then walked out the hut.
Now Briar was alone, it was quiet. She sat on her bed and sighed.
"I'm gonna look around for a bit" she said to herself. "No one showed me whats in the woods so I'll go wander around in there maybe" she smiled. She wandered out of the hut and walked over to the woods, they were dark and bit spooky but that didn't scare her, after all what could possibly be dangerous here? She overheard a group talking.
"I can't find Ben anywhere. We're supposed to run in the maze today." Minho said.
"Everyone look around and make sure that the greenie stays in her hut. Please" a dark skinned boy said. 'That's probably Alby. He looks like a leader and everyone is listening to him' Briar thought to herself. She went on into the woods. The deeper she went the more magical it looked. She decided to sit down on a patch of fallen leaves. She hummed to herself and listened to the leaves rustle in the wind.
She heard a twig snap but thought nothing of it, it could be one of the animals, they probably wandered out into the woods so she got up to look. "Where are you?" she quietly said. Then someone pounced onto her making her fall onto the ground and hit her head. She screamed loudly. A blonde boy with a pale face and red eyes was attacking her.
"GET OF ME!" she shouted she got a stick and wacked him in the side and then the head which knocked him off her. But he took her leg, pulled her towards him, the boy pulled out a knife snd cut into her arm, she whinced and screamed.
"HELP PLEASE HELP!" she screamed loudly. Then her hand picked up a large rock and hit him in his srm letting her go. Briar ran out the woods and fell of a log that was in the middle of the grass. She fell down as the boy came towards her again.
"NO!" she screamed. A group of boys dropped what they were doing and went to grab the boy back.
"ALBY!" One of them shouted, "Over here!"
Alby ran over with Newt and Minho. Briar was panting and grabbed her arm.
"Ow ow" she whinced.
"Ben?" Minho looked at boy who was squirming around. He got free and went for Briar again.
"NO GET HIM AWAY!" She shouted. Newt knocked him onto the floor as Alby and Minho and a few other boys pinned him down.
"Come here Briar" Newt shouted to Briar and Newt knelt down a few feet away from the others. "You'll be okay. We'll patch it up"

"BEN WHAT THE HELL?" Minho shouted.

"Lift up his shirt!" Alby said. They lifted up his shirt.
"He's been stung." Alby then said, "take him to the pit. We know what we have to do."
Newt sighed. "Not again." He said.
"Again? Stung?" Briar said in pain.
"2 other runners have been stung in past 1 month." Newt said. He held Briar in his arms whilst another dark skinned boy came over.
"Jeff! Quick!" Newt said. Jeff was one of the medics here.
"We'll get you patched up quickly although that looks deep." Jeff said.
"He cut me with a knife. I thought a animal was out in the woods because a twig snapped and-" she whinced as Jeff was putting a bandage on her arm. "And he came up behind me. It was so scary." She started crying.
"Its okay, your safe now." Newt said hugging her in his arms. She felt so safe. He was so gentle.
"There! Thats should be good, come find me if it gets worse" Jeff said before getting up to see the commotion going on.
"Whats gonna happen to Ben?" Briar look up to Newt.
"He'll go and belong to the maze." Newt said but he sounded sadly. She just hugged him
"It'll be okay" she said her eyes filling with tears, she didnt know why she never even met Ben until he tried to kill her
"SHE'LL BE THE END OF US" ben screamed whilst they pinned him down "SHE AN A BOY!" he screamed again whilst panting.
"What boy?" Alby said
"Brown hair. Not here" ben said again panting before Newt knocked him out again.
"Thats for hurting her!" He then stormed off.

Briar POV:

"Did Newt just stick up for me?
Hes so gentle and sweet. Ugh what an I even saying. I've only known him a day. Get yourself together Bri." I was saying to myself pacing back and forth next to my bed.

Chuck came in giggling, "You like Newt?" He sat on his bed swinging his feet. I turned to look at him.
"Be quiet! You dont know who could be listening. But maybe yes. I dont know. Hes sweet, and caring." I say sitting down on my bed.
"He isn't usually that caring or sweet to anybody, maybe he likes you back! I can ask him!" Chuck said standing up quickly running to the door, "I'll be back soon okay. And STAY HERE!" he said sounding serious this time.
His blonde hair his brown eyes his smile. Ugh, everything about him. So sweet, so pretty.
