The planet of Karkia, a dangerous place of thunder-storms and Typhoons, raging eternally across the planet, but, even in this horrific weathered landscape, life finds a way.
Seeping below the underbrush of dark-blue foliage is the Thunderbite, this insect-like Creature is Quite The shocker, Literally, It rubs against soft blue grass To gain static electricity and store it in its skin, Then, as it hunts for prey, It's stuns it with a strong electric shock, Quite similar to the way eels feed. But beyond simple Predators, There are large Megafaunal herbivorous, Feeding on the dark blue trees, the Darkleeners, They have grown so large Nothing on the world of Karkia Can eat them, So they peacefully graze among the trees, But not for long.
As we leave The tropical forests and enter the snowy Tundras, We discover a vast array of new organisms. In the frigid regions of
Karkia, You can find the SnowHair,
A large organism that grazes on small frerass ( A type of Dark blue grass That can survive extremely cold regions), It's thick and Snow colored fur Helping it keep warm and blend Into It's environment, But unlike the Darkleeners, It is not immune to predation. The sleek and fast Melonshark Tackles a Snowheir, pining it down before a swift bite to the neck, Melonsharks are extremely stealthy hunters, Able to sneak Up on prey better than any animal on Karkia, And the strength Of melonsharks are immense, Able to take down prey 10 times their size, But for this melonshark, It's not hunting for itself, It's hunting for It's little Melks (Melonshark cubs), Feeding them until she can Teach them how to hunt for themselves.
As we reach summer on Karkia, Many animals go Into hiding, And for good reason, Summer storms, Reaching winds of 75 mph, Heavy rains, And extreme thunder And lightning, Able to uproot trees ( That's a big milestone because trees on Karkia Have grown very large since the planet has low gravity) And destroy others, Fires spread all across the forest, Leaving some animals to leave their hiding place And run to Safer grounds, Even the heavy rain can't extinguish the flames, Within a few days of the storm, 25 acres of blue vegetation have been Either Burned, destroyed, uprooted or dragged away, Leaving the Land in ruins, As the storm passes and animals emerge from their dens, They find the world around them destroyed, But that's not to say The vegetation hasn't adapted to these yearly storms, The Once thriving trees left small buds On their roots, Which have started to emerge into new trees, Granting new life to this Now Baron landscape, And the strong was not all bad, It gave Lots of water to the rainforest, Fueling the growth of the new growing trees in other vegetation that survived.
Likewise, Karkia Is a weird yet fascinating place, Filled with dangers and beauties.
