" Mom I don't want to get married right now " She replied sternly
"We are not asking you to marry him right away beta, meet him first then the rest of the decision is in the hands of both you " mom replied calming her down while passing her a glass of water
" Mom I don't want to meet anyone " She said while furiously walked towards her room
She opened the room's door in a swing closed it with a bang
"Mom don't force di " I said taking a seat on the dining table
" We are not forcing her Ani we just don't want her to be alone " Mom replied
" I know you're worried but understand her side as well " I said with a little faint smile on my face
Mom smiled back
" Wait I'll just heat the dinner for you " mom said
" No mom, I had dinner already with some colleagues " I said and stood up from the chair to leave for my room
" I'm bringing a glass of milk for you and there is no room for negotiation here " She shouted
" Okay boss " I shouted back and laughed faintly
I freshen up and came out of the closet in my night suit while ruffling my wet hairs with a towel
My mother was already there sitting on my bed with a glass of milk in her hand
" Thank you mom " I said, took the glass from her hand and kept it on my work desk and thought she would leave in a few minutes
" My company is going to partner up with Rajput's for the project of Mr Ritvik, I have to meet Kabir daily and it's problematic for me " I started thinking about the project
As I sat at my work desk, staring blankly at my laptop screen, my mind raced with worries and anxieties. My mother, sensing my tension, walked over to me and placed her hand gently on my head. Her touch was warm and comforting, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had been building up inside me.
"Hey, beta, what's wrong? " she asked softly, her hand still on my head.
I sighed, feeling a knot in my stomach.
"Just work stress, Mom. It's been a long day " I replied smiling
But my mother's eyes saw right through me. She knew me too well. She kept her hand on my head, her fingers absently stroking my hair as if trying to soothe my frazzled nerves.
