They were best friends, inseparable, tied to the hip almost. But once they both became teens everything changed. They both made separate friends and that's when they both stopped being together 24/7. They grew apart.

Abigail moved away the summer before her sophomore year and because the two of them weren't as close anymore Abigail didn't get the chance to say goodbye, it was more that she thought he wouldn't care or that it wouldn't affect him in anyway at all. And it didn't affect him at all, is what he tried to tell himself after his mom caught him crying in his room.

When he found out it was a week before school started and he was in disbelief, he thought it was just a joke, he couldn't believe she had left without telling him or even saying goodbye.

He was hurt. Yes they might had not been the closest friends anymore but he still seen her as his best friends and when she left I was like a part of him also left. They used to be so close as would tell each other everything. Everyone knew it to, they saw how close they were, they knew the two of them were made for each other. They were never seen without each other.

He felt betrayed that she didn't tell him and he had to find out from other people. How could she. He felt his heart clenched from pain. He felt like this for around two months after school started but he decided to distract himself from Abigail with school and footbol until she wasn't in his head anymore. He forgot about her eventually, is what he told himself.
