The reader (you) are called Mackenzie Rose Stone and are a small singer/songwriter who helps her best friend Hailee Steinfeld with her music.

my hailee: obviously Mackenzie, so wys wanna come?
me: why im a noone compared to everyone invited
my hailee: well billie said we can bring +1s so you're coming babe
me: okay but i have nothing to wearrr
my hailee: i'll be there in 5 to take u shopping, its on me
me: thanks babes appreciate it

I force myself out of my warm, cozy bed and throw on some light grey joggers, a white tank top and a pair of black sunglasses to finish my look ready for my best friend to come and pick me up to take me shopping. I love shopping!! Especially with Hailee her fashion sense is mwah! I slip on my dark beige ugg's and hover by the front door of my little city apartment. My doorbell makes a buzz and i know it's Hailee so i get my handbag and keys and open the door to greet her.

"Hey Kenzie, cmon we havent got long!" Hailee smiles as she speaks, leading me to her car.

"Im coming!" I quickly lock up my apartment before getting into the passenger seat.

We finally arrive at the mall after a what felt like forever car journey that consisted of karaoke to Hailee's 'good vibes' playlist on spotify. Hailee leads me up to the designer clothing floor, "Its all on me Kenz choose whatever you want and its yours!".

My eyes widen, "I love you for that babes but i seriously can't let u pay these crazy prices for me.". She shakes her head and encourages me to look around, and I, accepting defeat, have a mooch around.
I find a gorgeous dark blue shimmery dress to try that Hailee reckons makes my eyes pop.

"That is the most stunning dress i've ever seen Mack, you have to let me get that for you!!" she insists. I feel awful, the price is almost as much as my apartments rent but Hailee is a very keen person who doesnt take no for an answer so theres no changing her mind.

We get back to my place after a tiring hour of shopping and i gather my makeup in a bag ready to take to Hailee's so we can get ready together. "Thank you so much for my dress Hailee you can wear it whenever you want to and when i get enough money i will pay you back i promise!" I say to her as i step into my brand new beautiful blue dress.

"Babe, you're my best friend, it's on me please!" She turns to me whilst curling her eyelashes. I know Hailee's my best friend but hearing from her that i'm hers too even though she has hundreds of celebrity friends means a lot.

I met Hailee when i moved to America in senior year, 5 years later im still here and we're still inseparable. I smile to myself thinking about our best memories whilst applying my makeup.

"Are you nearly ready Mack?" Hailee asks me as she buckles her 3 inch heels. I nod and we make our way down to the cab.

"I'm so nervous about this Hailee, theres going to be so many famous people and then just little old regular me." I look concerned as i speak.

"It will be okay we can go home whenever you want to babes and trust me the people there will be lovely!" She reassures me as we pull up in the black cab outside a gigantic mansion.

"Oh my gosh this place is huge!!" I gasp becoming slightly overwhelmed.

"You're okay lets just go in and say hi and you can stay with me the whole night if you want." She takes my hand as we walk up the marble steps to the oddly tall double front door.
