She's never had to be on her own. And now, people were beginning to notice.
Chompoo was no longer Ms. Popular and just recently, she also quit the gymnastics club albeit the coach's protests. She didn't have a choice; she could no longer practice without feeling as though people were judging her—like they knew her secret.
Also, she lost the confidence to keep fooling around with the coach. It's like Phayu has eyes everywhere and she was afraid she'll get caught in 4k doing something she isn't proud of again.
And this is all because of Rain—at least, in her mind, it is.
"Just you wait, Rain." She grits through her teeth as she's sitting alone at the school yard with people passing her by as though she were invisible. "Once I get dirt on you too, I'll make sure you suffer, you and everyone you care about."
She gets up, crushing the empty box of chocolate milk (her guilty pleasure) in her hand and chucking it in the trash. Then she starts on her way home, needing to walk then take public transportation now that she lost her it girl privileges.
But then, she comes across a very familiar trio. They seem to be on their way home as well while talking amongst themselves.
"P'Phayu? Amicable?" One of them scoffs. If Chompoo remembers correctly, this one is called Som. And the other boy is Sky. "You don't have a fever." He feels the forehead of the third boy who Chompoo is most familiar with—Rain.
What the fuck are they talking about? Chompoo draws back, hiding behind a bush. She didn't think she'd get anything big from it, maybe just some details about Rain's study date with Pai or some dirt on Phayu.
But to her shock—and delight—Som practically announces then, "This is all my fault! If only I didn't mess up and put your letter in P'Pai's desk instead."
What? She's momentarily lost. And then, it clicks. It all clicks into place.
Rain likes Prapai and wrote that letter for him. But it ended up in Phayu's desk by mistake!
And it just keeps getting better.
"Maybe you've done enough, Rain." Sky tells the boy with a look of pity. "You've been a good boyfriend to Phayu; at this point, he'll be angrier if you wait too long before breaking up with him. You know? He might get too invested."
Rain looks thoughtful but all he says is, "I know. But I need a bit more time."
Rain knows Sky has a point. They only did this so Phayu would have some mercy on him when they break up. And if Rain still intends on breaking up, he best do it now while both he and Phayu aren't in too deep.
But he can't just yet. He needs a little time to be sure of his feelings—just a little bit more time.
But that is exactly what Chompoo plans on not giving him. It's perfect! If she reveals Rain's secret before he does, it'll be like a nuclear bomb that will destroy EVERYTHING.
But she pulls herself together; she can't get too excited and end up using her trump card recklessly. The real question is when and how she will reveal it. And...who will she tell first?
Prapai or Phayu?
~~~
When Rain gets home and as soon as he's in his bedroom, he recalls what Phayu said about keeping him updated. And he quickly fishes out his phone and sends a message.
P'Phayu, I got home safely.
Only now? Why did you take too long?
