Alya was very bored. Their Spanish teacher was going on and on about adjective agreement, which was probably the most mind-numbing part about learning Spanish. They were learning about genders of words in even more depth then they had in Year 7 and 8, so it was probably one of the most important parts of Spanish they would learn in Year 9.
As she was trying to make sense of a sentence Mr Zabalo had written on the board, she noticed that Alicia and Tanisha were deep in conversation. Tanisha was Ash's second-biggest enemy, so this was very suspicious. As Alya leaned in to hear more of the conversation, Tanisha suddenly turned around and glared at her. Ooops. Alya quickly looked away, sneaking glances every 2 seconds or so to check she had stopped looking.

Ash was chatting with Scarlet after school when she heard loud yells. They quickly ran over to see Alya and Tanisha yelling at each other.
"YOU ACTUAL NOSY COW WHY ARE YOU LISTENING TO MY CONVERSATIONS YOU FREAK" Tanisha yelled.
"Oh, perlease. Your conversations are about as interesting as a spoon" Alya retorted.
"OH, SO YOU THINK I'M BORING DO YOU?"
"Yeah, maybe I do. Get over yourself, girly."
There was a sudden thud as Tanisha punched her in the face. This quickly escalated into a fist fight, and it took several of their friends (well, Tanisha's friends mostly) to pull them off each other. Luckly, this was outside of the school, so they didn't get into much trouble. Ash secretly wondered why Alya was listening to a conversation.
When she got home, Jenny immediately came over to her. "Sissy!" she gulped, with a gigantic toffee in her mouth. Ash quickly ran to the pantry and stuffed her face with all the new snacks her mum had bought her. "Mmmm, mmthismmmm mmmismmm mmmgoodmmmm" she said, her mouth stuffed with sweet treats.
"Honey, you really need to stop eating all the treats. Leave some for the rest of us!" her mother called from the kitchen. "Plus, you'll spoil your appetite. I'm making spring rolls!"
Ash's mouth watered. That was her favourite food ever. She went upstairs to get changed into her black-and-white pyjamas and then lay on her bed for a little while, thinking about the fight. Alya wasn't really the type of person to get into fights on purpose, so it must've been Tanisha who started it. Ash would have to wait until tomorrow to find out the full truth.
