POV - Wyatt
«Pick another one»
«Nope!»
«Just fucking pick another one!»
I grinned at Billy slowly mouthing the words again «Nope!»
«Wyatt!» Billy warned, but I was not put off that easily.
«Are they always like this?» Liam questioned Tony looking some what bored.
«Jupp!» Tony answered in all honesty.
«I'm always yellow, Wyatt, you know that! Give it back!» Billy practically growled at me, his wolf shining through.
«Yes, and you always win! Now I'm going to be yellow» I say watching his irritation grow as a loud growl escaped his lips.
«Give me those!» Liam's strong voice filtered through the air. And I watched him grab the red and yellow pieces and hide them behind his back. «Left or right» He signaled me to pick either of his hands.
I lightly tap his left and he slowly reveals his left hand, his face emotionless as he rolls out the yellow piece placing it in front of me. «Wyatt is yellow, Billy gets red.»
Billy sighs and grabs the red piece «Fuckings bad luck!»
And it wasn't, because, in the end, my fucking yellow piece lost. But it was just a game and my mind was not actually on the game but rather on someone else in the room.
-He switched them and gave u the yellow- Tony had mind-linked me.
And the questions in my head started buzzing. Why had he given me the yellow? Was he afraid of me? Does he know I'm an alpha? Probably...
I don't know why I hadn't told him, I just didn't want him to ... you know...change, to serve and please me, to not be himself around me like all the other wolves.
I feel the need to protect him, something in his eyes from time to time makes me want to pick him up and just hold him. I think he would like that, I just got to make sure he wasn't afraid of me first.
"I'm heading out." Liam says standing up and stretching his limbs "See you guys in the morning" he waves heading for the door.
I quickly get up "I'll walk you back," I say half running to open the door for him. Almost knocking him down in the process, luckily his reflexes were up and on high alert and he managed to dodge my clumsy move.
"Walk! Don't run!" Liam says just as I shut the door behind us. "You're like an accident waiting to happen!"
"Sorry," I smirked loving his bossy tone.
"I mean it!" His eyes reveal his irritation "I don't need another bruise or broken bone, because of your inability to walk."
"What?" I stopped dead in my tracks. "Where?" I questioned scanning him for injuries.
"I can take a hit, don't worry about me" His stance changed in an instant and his face covered behind an emotionless one. "I'm going over to dinner hall to see if there are any leftovers."
Mywolf felt like he was covering it up and running away, and I somehowgot the feeling he was covering up more than just a bruise.
"I'll go with" I joined in before he had the chance to brush me off again. I could always do with a late meal snack, But why he thought there might not be any leftovers left a foul taste in my mouth and I wondered if his pack often went hungry.
"So are your pack all set for this winter? And necessary food prepped and stocked?" I try to glide into the conversation as we walk down the stairs.
"Ofcourse" He answered me steadily on, but through my keen alpha senses, I felt his heartbeat tumble and quicken. He was lying, but he hid it quite well. "Wouldn't be an alpha to be if I didn't" he continued, and I sensed his anger slightly rising.
