Bruises and Caresses

Chapter 2

"L-Levi! W-when did you get home? I thought  you were working late tonight..?" Eren said with fear in his voice.

"I was, but my boss let me come home early about an hour ago." Levi replied while still keeping his composure in the door way.

"I-I didn't even hear you come in.." Eren said nervously.

"I saw you were busy with your friend, so I thought I'd wait until you two were done." 

"O-oh, I see.. Y-you really didn't have to wait for me.." 

"No, I figured it was better to wait until he left.." Levi said as he took a few steps away from the door way, "That way we'd be alone." 

Levi started walking towards Eren, who began backing up. "Tell me, Eren.." Levi began as he walked closer, "Did you have fun sneaking your littler friend in here?" 

Eren backed up even more but was stopped by the door, giving Levi the perfect opportunity to block him, "Well? Did you?" Levi said, slamming his hand against the wall. Eren flinched at the sudden movement. He stood there, frozen with fear, "I-I um.." he tried to stutter out.

"Answer me, brat." Levi said in a demanding voice as he moved closer to Eren's face.

"I-it's not what you think, Levi!" Eren exclaimed.

"Oh? So, Armin just happened to stop by this late at night then?" Levi asked.

"N-no.." Eren replied as he starred down at the floor. 

"So you asked him to come over then? Hmm, what did he think about that bruise on your cheek?"

"He.. H-he didn't notice.." Eren said, still looking down at the floor. 

"Bullshit." Levi said, "Don't think you can get away with lying to me." 

"I-I told him I fell when I was moving something and hit the side of my face.." Eren lied. Levi looked down at him, "Hm. Is that so?" 

"Y-yes.." Eren replied. Levi didn't believe anything Eren was saying. "Tch. You're such a bad liar, you know that?" Eren looked up at Levi, "B-but I-" Eren was cut off by Levi's hand across his face. 

"What did I tell you about lying?!" Levi yelled. Eren returned his gaze to the floor. "Is this the first time Armin's found out about this..?" 

"Y-yes.." Eren replied with a shaky voice. 

"How do I know he won't tell anyone..?"

"He won't.." Eren replied, "He knows Mikasa would probably call the cops if Armin told her.." 

Which was true. Armin agreed to keep his mouth shut about the abuse between Eren and Levi, only because he feared for what Levi would end up doing to Eren if he spoke up and Levi found out.

"Also.." Eren added, his voice still shaky, "He knows what would happen if he told someone and you found out.."

Levi wasn't exactly scared of the police, more of the other way around. Since Levi worked for a major company, if he was arrested he could simply have one of his higher ups bail him out. One of his higher ups begin Erwin Smith, who happened to own the company and was well respected and admired, could easily get him out of any situation he needed. Also, given Levi's background, everyone pretty much knew what Levi was capable of doing if anyone messed with him. 

"Hn. Smart kid." Levi began, "He should know who shouldn't mess with. But for now, you're not allowed to see that little blonde boy for awhile. He's seen too much and I don't want him getting any ideas, or better yet, putting ideas in your head. Does that make sense, brat?" Eren still starred down at the floor, "Y-yes, Levi.."  he replied, trying to be as obedient as possible. 

"Good." Levi said, "Now, enough of this. Quit starring at the ground and get me something to eat, I'm starving."
