Avery's POV
As I walked into the hospital for my MRI appointment on a Saturday, a mixture of nerves and determination surged through me.
It was a weekend, and I had purposely chosen this day so Tyler could focus on his important appointment at Sandoval Empire. Secretary KC wasn't with me either, kaya ko naman kasi na mag-isa.
Dr. Ramirez greeted me warmly at the entrance. "Good afternoon, Avery. Ready to proceed with the MRI?"
I nodded, trying to steady my voice. "Yes, Doctor. Let's get started."
We made our way to the radiology department where Dr. Lao awaited us. He nodded in acknowledgment and led me into the MRI room.
I lay down on the examination table, the cool surface contrasting with my racing thoughts. As the MRI machine hummed to life around me, I closed my eyes, focusing on the rhythmic sounds to calm my nerves.
This test was my best chance at unraveling the mystery behind my persistent headaches.
Minutes felt like hours as the machine captured detailed images of my brain. I kept as still as possible, hoping each scan would provide the clarity I desperately needed.
Finally, the MRI was completed. I let out a sigh of relief as Dr. Lao approached me with a reassuring smile.
"We've finished, Avery. Thank you for your cooperation," he said kindly.
Sitting up slowly, I couldn't help but ask, "Did you find anything?"
Dr. Lao hesitated for a moment, choosing his words carefully. "There are some anomalies we observed, but we'll need to analyze the images thoroughly. They may be related to the symptoms you've been experiencing."
My stomach tightened with apprehension. "When will I know the results?"
He assured me, "I'll review the findings with Dr. Ramirez, and we'll discuss them with you as soon as possible."
I know may mali sa katawan ko lately.
When the elevator opened on the groundfloor, I stepped out.
What I've learned as a nursing student is that every second in the hospital is crucial. Here, the lives of every person admitted depend on it.
Upon stepping out, I noticed the bustling activity in the hospital lobby. Nurses hurried in and out, attending to numerous patients. Some patients were being wheeled in on stretchers, one family among them involved in an accident, as I overheard from a passing nurse.
Approaching the entrance, I saw a little boy crying with blood covering his head. No one seemed to notice amidst the busy nurses.
As I approached the crying child, I could sense the urgency of the situation. The child seemed scared and in pain, and my nursing instincts kicked in immediately.
"Hey there, sweetheart," I said gently, crouching down beside him. "Let's get you cleaned up and checked by a doctor, okay?"
The child looked up at me with wide, tear-filled eyes but nodded hesitantly. I guided him towards the nearest nurse station, kung saan busy din ang mga nurses at pinaupo lang muna yung batang dinala ko.
