The ride to the hospital was so silent it was sickening both guards refusing to tell me anything no matter how much I begged. To make matters worse I was in the back seat of guards car and people immediately thought I was another girl who has been causing trouble. I hate that people presume they know you without even talking to you. My mother and I would go to the park and we would make up story's of the people there or try to say what they were thinking but all our predictions were well off or just plain stupid.

After what seemed hours the hospital came into view and then I remember why I hated hospitals . Our local hospital was a sickening yellow colour with a horrible smell of disinfectant . I scrunched my nose in disgust as we went into the building. I walked behind the guards trying to get my composure before I see what's laying behind one of these doors.

I walked up to the reception desk. Behind it sat an elderly woman with a slight smile who was typing away at the computer in front of her. I cleared my throat which made her look up at me ."I'm here to see Elizabeth Smith". She began to type again and after a minute she said she's in room 922. I murmured a with a quick thank you as I rushed past her to get to the elevator .

When the elevator came to the floor we wanted I ran down to the corridor 119,120,121 . Finally I found 922 and was about to go in but hand flew in front of me. "Ms you can't go in there" I turned around to face the person who dared to stop me and saw it was a nurse."That's my mother in there" I told her with a glare. Then the doctor appeared and gave me a smile smile.

"Are you Ms Isabelle Smith" he asked me. "Yes" I replied. "Please sit down and I'll explain the situation to you and then you may see your mother" I did as he said and looked at him patiently. He sighed and sat down next to me. "Has your mother been tired lately" he asked me. I thought back. A couple of weeks ago she couldn't get out of the bed but she told me it was just a bug. I nodded.

"Well we've done some tests and we received some news. Your mother seems to have had a stroke but this is not her first one." he said. "What does that mean" I asked. "It means that your mother doesn't have much time left on this earth and I suggest that you and the rest of your family spend as much time as possible with her " he said with a sad smile. " how long does she have left" I asked with tears brimming in my eyes. "Only a few days" he replied. I tried to swallow the lump in my throat, " can I see her now " I asked him. He nodded in response.

Before I went in he told me that he was going to ring my family and with that I took a deep breath and I walked in to the room. As I entered I let out a sharp gasp. There on the bed layed a woman who resembled my mother but her skin was as pale as paper, Her blond hair matted together, her lips cracked and were in a tight line. She had tubes in her hands and she was in a hospital gown and was sleeping lightly. I quietly went over to her and held her hand.

The only sounds in the room was her light breathing and the beeping coming from the machine. Then she opened her eyes and gave me a small smile. I hadn't realised I was crying until she placed her other hand on my cheek and whipped the tears away. "Why didn't you tell me " i asked her with more tears coming down my check. " I knew you would react like this baby" she replied. " what am I going to do?? I can't lose you, your my mom I need you"

"it's my time baby girl, you've made me so proud and just remember I'll always be with you, in your heart remember that. Your my strong beautiful daughter and I couldn't be happier to have spent my life with you I love you Belle ". With that she closed her eyes and the machine bagan to beep quicker and quicker " mom no stay awake don't leave me mom no please please wwake up I need you I need my mother." Then the nurses and doctor came rushing in and suddenly I was being pulled out of the room. At first I began to struggle against whoever was dragging me but then my body went limp.

Once I was out of the room I sat on the floor and stared blankly at the sickly white wall. I could here the doctor yelling orders at the nurses. Then I heard the noise I never wanted to hear. The sound of the machine going dead. After a half an hour the doctor came out and looked at me sadly. He didn't need to say anything because I knew it she was gone and I'll never see her again. I brought my knees to my chest and began to sob uncontrollably. Then warm arms engulfed me. I looked up to see Liv looking down at me with her parents standing behind her along with my aunts and uncles.

After I've calmed down abit I went home with my aunt Sandra. Liv came with us and stayed the night I spent most of it crying and Liv comforting me until eventually I fell asleep. That night I dreamt of my mom. But she wasn't like how I saw her every other day or that last day. Her skin was glowing ,her hair was healthy, her eyes we're bright and had a spark in them and her smile was breathtaking. She told me that she loved me and that's she's happy now. With that I fell into a deep sleep
