Chapter 8

He's with a group of thieves.

          "I want to see the both of you die but not now. So, are you two going to accept our help?" He said to them.

          She wants to accept it but Kai immediately said no. The vines are crawling towards her lower limbs and she immediately slices the vines. She's tempted. They will die. Any minute Kai will lose his consciousness.

          "My son, give up and give her to me." He's trying to use their relationship to convince him.

          "What is the cost of your help?" Aella asked him.

          "Information about the knights and the palace map location." Kai's father answered. She can't give those. She can't betray the Knights.

           Three ladies appeared. It was so fast; the three girls took down the slimes in a minute. A hydro, pyro and anemo vision holder. They're wearing masks. 

          "No need for their help." A girl with anemo vision said.

          It just a blink of eye, the whole surrounding id covered by smoke. They created a smoke? She inspected Kai. He is unconscious already.

          "Trust me, trust us." Another girl said and grabbed her. The two other girls helped Kai. They're escaping.

          "Find them!!" She heard Kai's father shouted.

After hours of walking, they finally reached the house. They gone through a lot of obstacles maybe because the two ladies are carrying Kai. The suffering fade away when we entered the house. However, they didn't find calmness, Kai is in the verge of death.

Lyndsey gave Aella's vision to her. Aella tried to use it to heal Kai but the effect of the slime is scattered in his body.

"My help is just temporary. It just slowed the chemicals on his blood to reach all of his body parts. In three days, he will die." Aella said to the three girls.

"We need to find the medicine for Kai." Febbie said.

"Good thing we are near to Montavia. We should go and buy the medicine. They have the best doctor." Lyndsey said. Montavia, is the land of God of Rock and lands and some of the medicinal plants are from them. An amazing doctor is also residing at Montavia. The medicine is only available on certain nation.

Early in the morning, Lyndsey, Aella and Febbie traveled to get the medicine. They left Barbara to look out for Kai.

Aella felt shocked after she saw the big rock formations and Montavia have a lot of tall mountains. The city of it is near at the sea. The eyes of the folks are eyeing them while they're walking in the city. The three of them are wearing mask, and Lyndsey lend some of her clothes to her. Febbie said that their face maybe known to the city because of their crimes so they need to cover their face.

A guard noticed them and he blocked them. "Wearing a mask without any valid reason is not allowed to Montavia. Please, removed your masks or show me your faces." He said to them.

Aella didn't know what to do. She was about to remove her mask when Febbie stop her hand and Febbie coughed loudly. Aella's eyes widened and stunned in confusion.

"We're about to see the doctor's named Dr. Dietrich. My friend here is ill and we're with her all the time. We don't want to spread any illness." Lyndsey explained to the guard.

Aella didn't react. She just nodded and acted so well. Febbie was the best actress and Lyndsey is smart to fool the guard. The guard was fooled. She believes Lyndsey is a kind and compassionate girl, but her timidity hides this. On the other side, Febbie is the brave and chaotic, and these characteristics make her cheerful and brings joy to everything.

"Okay then, let me give you the papers for permission of wearing masks." He informed and gave them the papers. Its like a card, and a word for medical purposes is written on the papers.

"We're very sorry. It's been a long time since we step foot on your city, we didn't know the rules." Lyndsey added.

"I understand. Our government are trying to prevent criminals from freely walking around the city." He also added. The poor guard didn't have the idea that he's talking to the criminals that he is talking about. Their government probably heard about the criminals constantly attacking their nation. She feels ashamed of it.

"That was so funny." A laughing Febbie said when they are away from the guard.

"Good thing he's an idiot. They can't even prevent us, how they could prevent big criminals." Lyndsey said. Aella didn't argue because all of the words are true and she agree with it.

They didn't waste anymore time and they went at the pharmacy. A sad news welcomed them. The medicine they need is not available at the moment. The pharmacist said that it was used from the recent attack o f slimes.

"Doctor Dietrich, is inside of his. You may talk to him about your inquiries but one person is only allowed. The doctor doesn't want a crowded place because it makes him feel like a pandemic happened." The pharmacist explained to them. It was a valid treason though.

Aella presented to talk to the doctor. They waited for less than an hour for their turn and the pharmacist escorted her to the office of the doctor. They both entered the office but the pharmacist quickly left.

"Good morning, Doctor Dietrich." She greeted him and removed her mask. She saw a young handsome doctor that is completely different from what she imagined. She thought he is an old man because from what she heard this man has a lot of knowledge and experience, however, this man is dazzling with his warm smile and he looks so young.

"Yes, miss. A lovely day for you too. What can I help you?" He asked her. She saw his perfect set of teeth. This man screams perfection but for her Kai's set of teeth is the most alluring one.

"We want a medicine for the poison of poison ivy slimes and your pharmacist delivered a sad news to us, it was out of stock. Me and my acquaintances wants to know on how we will get the medicine in our hands within this day or even tomorrow. We, badly need it. Our friend was attack by the slimes last night and he's severely injured. Good thing we have a knowledge on healing that helped him extend his life for three days." She explained.

The doctor rubs his chin using his right hand and looked at the window, as if he's thinking something. She felt nervous. Kai might die if they didn't get the medicine. She makes sure that all of her tone is polite that could help to build rapport she needed.

"Is that so?" He looked at her and smirked. "Our stocks of ingredients are also out of stock, since I'm the only one who lead the group who are finding these ingredients on the dangerous mountains of Montavia and I want you to get those ingredients. The question is, are you willing to risk your life to get those ingredients?" He said to Aella.

Fuck shit. The only words she wants to utter but she just closed her mouth for a moment. Two things will only be the result if she agrees to it. First, they will die. Second, they will not die. Those mountains are freaking huge. They could die in exhaustion and a lot of wild animals and monsters are lurking in the mountains, even bad people.

"It will only take you one day to collect those two ingredients, who is missing on my inventory. After that I will make you a sum of medicine for your friend. Are you accepting?" He explained further. One day or nothing.

"Is this your only condition for you to make medicine for us?" She asked because she wants to make sure that in the end the doctor wouldn't betray her and do what he promised to her.

"Yes. Absolutely yes." The doctor immediately answered.

"I'm willing to take the risk." Aella chose the one day on mountains.
