The Day It All Went Wrong

In a place called Cabbagetown, there lived a girl named Rosebud. Rosebud was 12 years old and lived in a semi-detached house with her two parents, William and Daisy. Rosebud was an only child all her life and had been spoiled rotten by her parents. She had a huge stuffy collection and loved to draw. In her backyard she had a pool.

Once every year her family would open the pool and they would all jump in together to proclaim the opening of the pool, and then, at the end of the day Rosebud would "close" the pool by doing one last jump in.

One day after Rosebud closed the pool, a big gust of wind blew the pool side table into the pool. William jumped in followed by Daisy and together they managed to pull up the table back to the surface and on to the pool side once more. Due to the accident, Rosebud got to "close" the pool once more.

The next night Rosebud went off to her best friend Clarice's house for a visit. Before she left, her parents let her know, that they would go by the pool side. They said they would not go in, and that they just wanted to relax and spend some quality time together. Little did they now that, that would be their last time they would ever see their daughter again.

After Rosebud left, her parents went into the backyard and sat down in the two chairs surrounding the pool table. Suddenly there was a gust of wind, and a scream of fright filled the night air, as William and Daisy looked into each others eyes, one last time. While they were passing away, one of the neighbours heard the scream and called their house to see if they were alright. When the neighbour called he got no answer and decided to go over to their house in person instead. As he was walking, he felt a sudden cold shudder going down his back. As he quietly opened the back door gate, which was conveniently unlocked, his expression on his face turned from worried to horrified. As soon as the neighbour snapped out of it he realised that Rosebud was missing. Of course, he did not know where she was because he doesn't see her 24/7. He decided to call the police and he knew that they would probably end up figuring out what happened to William and Daisy, but most importantly where Rosebud was.

The police arrived at the house 10 minutes later and started to look for clues. Since they did not see anything to the naked eye, they called the FBI to further investigate the death. When the FBI showed up, they came with a whole truck load of tools and things to further analysis any clues unseen by the naked eye.

After they went inside, an officer came across a calendar hanging on the fridge. He looked at today's date and realised that Rosebud was not missing, in fact she was just over at her friend's house for a sleepover.
