CHAPTER 40 - Island Trip

As the night reach the peak of midnight, someone was still wide awake as what happened today was still playing vibrantly in her head.

Lia, she just tossing around in her bed as she can't fall asleep. Thinking about what happened that day somehow makes it difficult for her to fall asleep.

'Damn it! Why can't I fall asleep?! Just sleep already! Stop overthinking things!'

She said in her head as she stared at her bedroom ceiling. She closed her eyes and take a long inhale of air. And when she let out a long sighed, again, it flashed before her eyes.

The smiles from Zee as they take a stroll at the beach...those face that got hit by the gentle blows of sea breeze...and also those face that got hit by the golden sunlight and those smile...as he talk about Chawarin.

She noticed that... when they were chatting with each other earlier this day, whenever the topic touched Chawarin, there's something changed on those expressions...as if...he was that enthusias talking about Chawarin. And when they get home late in the evening today... There is a bright smile forming in his face every time Chawarin was near him. It's just...somehow made her realize...

There's something on Zee's eyes that sparks every time he looks at Chawarin's eyes. And it's actually clear how...Zee was actually happy when Chawarin was by his side.

And all of this just makes Lia have these mixed feelings inside her.

'Hah... just stop overthinking about it already...'

2 days after that, it's all just goes by like always...until that night, as they are having a family dinner, Uncle Chan suddenly voiced out.

"Well... I want to take this opportunity to tell y'all about this great news..."

"What is it por?.."

Lia said lightly as she looked at his father a.k.a Uncle Chan.

"A few days ago...my great friend invited me to come to their private island trip...at first I was about to reject it as I thought that It means, it's only me who'll joined them..."

"And then...what happened por??"

"...He told me that, I also should bring all of my family to join them as well..."

As all of them heard that, they slightly have this surprise looks in their face..

"Well...it was his niece that got married a weeks from now..."

Uncle Chan said again as he calmly just continued eating after that, leaving all the eyes that was still on him.

"Is it mean...it was a one weeks vacation?"

Zee voiced out in the end.

"That's right..."

And after take a sip of the water, uncle Chan puts the cup down and continued...

"...So shall we go there this Sunday?"

And it's truly happening... just after that day where they discussed about the trip, they truly go there...not to mention that this trip is free and fully paid by uncle Chan's friends. That also got Zee wondering just how rich uncle Chan's friends is...
