✖️ Martin's POV ✖️
Ibiza sat across the sloshing lake with its dazzling lights that brightened the darkening sky and electric sounds that pounded through the hazy and muggy air. A cool breeze swept across my face as clouds flooded in from the east, bringing storms that'll surly cancel the DJ sets scheduled for tomorrow.
Softness caressed my body as a plush blanket was laid across my shoulders to warm the shiver in my bones and settle the goosebumps that were climbing up my tanned skin. A loud explosion and a luminous shine from the Tiesto set at Ibiza caught my attention from the balcony I stood on.
"Martin," The sweet sound of another voice sent my senses rolling down a steep hill as everything faded away and it was just me and that honey-like voice that hung in the mid-summer air. "I got you a drink."
Footsteps entered the scene as my hearing slowly came back as well as my voice and my vision as I turned around to face the nosie that caught me in a trance and made me weak at the knees. Soon, my fingers made contact with smooth skin as I couldn't hold in the longing to touch her, to hold her, to love her.
My chapped lips clashed with her smooth and plump ones as I sunk into the warmth of her body and the sight of her calm expression as she let me kiss her. Her eyelids hid her kaleidoscope irises that danced in the rising and setting sun that I would always get lost in every time I was by her side, enjoying her presence.
Her hands rested on my shoulders as my arms slid around her waist to hold her closer, to bring her towards me, to let this kiss never end, but sadly, it did. Pressure was applied to my shoulders as she pulled away from me, letting my arms fall to my side, limp.
Those stunning eyes of hers stared up at me with a mix of confusion and regret as her lips that I so gladly enjoyed tasting slowly pursed into a straight line on her face. My lips were smeared with her lip gloss making them taste of and smell faintly like strawberries.
"I-I," She stuttered out in her silky and angelic voice that made me want to smile at every word she said and listen to whatever she was about to say. "Need to... go."
Her sandals softly clicked on the hardwood flooring and her heels as she traveled across the furnished living room to the front door out of my hotel room. I couldn't watch her leave without explaining myself or telling her how I really feel about her.
"Rainn, wait," I said gently tapping her shoulder with my fingertips. Her body shuddered and crumbled as a weep escaped from her mouth. "Are you okay?"
Her hands trembled at her side as she clenched and unclenched them in anger. My fingers fell off the bare skin of her shoulders as she slowly turned around for me to see her flustered and distraught.
"No, I'm not," Her voice was now calm but mixed with anger. "Nothing's okay anymore because you can't decide who you want to be."
"What-what do you mean?" I asked confused.
"You don't know? You don't know what you're doing?!" She screamed as her hands flew above her head. "I've tried, Martin, I've tried to cope with you, with the animal. I can't anymore... I can't."
Her mahogany brown hair flipped through the air as she stomped her way to the door. My breath was heavy as I was trying to figure out what she was saying, trying to understand what I've been doing to Rainn.
"Have you tried too?" I called out to her as she got to the end of the hallway. "Or are you just too stubborn to fix yourself and tried to help me instead?!"
"I don't need you, Martin!" She cried back as I saw a trail of wetness travel down her blushed cheeks. "Or that-that animal!"
The door slammed shut behind me as I felt rage climb up my throat and fall out of my mouth as a yell. My hands grabbed the closest item and threw it across the room to hit the opposite wall.
Rainn, of all people. How could she have said that about me, how could she be like that to someone who helped her, someone who wanted to be with her, wanted to love her. Glass shattered and crackled as I knocked over the lamp on the bedside table and stepped across it.
"Forget her, Martin! She's the one that needs to figure out what's wrong with herself." I said to myself, though I knew I couldn't live without Rainn Donee by my side.
