(Y/n's Intro)
'A Soulmate is someone who you carry with you forever; it's the one person who knew you and accepted you and believed in you before anyone else did, or when no one else would; And no matter what happens, you will always love them, nothing can ever change that' ~ Dawson Leery.
(Y/n's Pov)
I always knew that soulmates are a once in a lifetime occurrence before I arrived in the L/n's care and then telling me about soulmates when I got older.
'They come into our lives when we least expect it; and when they do, you'll feel like you know them your whole life even though you just met' was what FM/n L/n said to me on my 13th birthday when I came to her asking questions about soulmates.
I didn't have the heart to tell her that I didn't believe their was a soulmate out their for me when I saw the smile on her face when I came to her for answers to all my important questions.
But now, as I wake up with an excruciating headache and a blinding light hanging over my closed eyes; I wished that I believed in the 'Disney Magic' she grew up with.
Because the fear I felt when I woke in a room, a hospital room, with no memory of how I got there; I carved the safety and comfort my Foster mom gave me for the past 12 years.
When I heard the sharp *Beep* sound coming from the heart monitor by my bed side, I immediately closed my eyes and played possum when I heard two sets of foot steps heading my way.
The foot steps stop when they appeared in the door way, sounding confused when I breathed in and out slowly and softly; looking as if I was asleep.
"Are you sure you heard the heart monitor spike in Princess Y/n's room Nurse Jane"?
🦪'Princess Y/n?
They're not talking about me are they?
They could have stopped outside my room to check if the noise wasn't coming from me before they checked on the Princess who has the same name as me'🦪.
But they didn't stop outside my room to check before tending to the princess, because as they came in to check my pulse point on my neck (and I had to fight against the urge to bolt to keep the peaceful sleepy expression on my face when nurse Jane spoke.)
"Yes Dr. Cricket, I'm sure.
(I could hear Jane moving at my left when I felt something being taken off my arm, that's when I felt sick after realizing she was pulling out a needle.)
I've kept my focus on this room since Prince Ben brought her in".
Hearing the name Ben stirred memories in my head I didn't know I had, (then again I did have amnesia before the nice foster care manager of the California department found me all dirtied up and crying in an alley in the rain when I was 4).
Dr. Cricket expressed a sympathetic sigh as he lifted my neck so he could adjust the pillow underneath so I would be more comfortable before setting me back down.
"Poor boy, to have finally found his best friend 12 years later and to discover she's his soulmate after seeing her unconscious after the limo hit her; I would be shaken to my very core as well".
Hearing what they were saying literally through me back to the moment they were talking about.(FlashBack)
I landed on the ground, after breaching the surface of the water and gasping for air.
My head feels all over the place and is still constantly spinning as I stood up and moved with an unbalanced grace that be considered a mirical considering I was walking without falling on my a** or my face.
Possibly both, but hey, walking while feeling like I had no bones was probably better than me not walking at all.
Where I was heading to barley crossed my mind for obvious reasons, whatever happened to me while I was swimming really messed with not only my head, but also my sense of direction.
But my instincts were thankfully in tact, then again, if anyone was experiencing what I was, then they would be heading to the nearest source of civilization for help too.
But I wasn't expecting to come across a castle like structure that was straight from Disney.
The bright colorful blue and yellow banners, lush green bushes that had bright citrus color roses, students wearing every pastel color from pink to blue, and a weird statue of a man that looked strikingly like a noble & politician while also giving me book lover vibes; didn't help with my head ache.
But I can't help but think that the statue of the man looked familiar when I stood in front of it.
